Even our Bollywood kids are blessed to have such doting grandparents, who with time became their best buddies too! These little ones are the centre of their grandparents’ universe, who couldn’t be happier with their tiny pals being around them. Here’s the list of Bollywood grandkids and their super-adorable grandparents and be ready to have your heart melted!
Navya Naveli Nanda, Agastya Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan are the heart of the Bachchan family. Amitabh and Jaya are proud nana-nani of Navya and Agastya (children of Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Nikhil Nanda), and dada-dadi of Aaradhya (daughter of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). They are totally enjoying the roles of doting grandparents.
Amitabh Bachchan penned down a letter for his granddaughters, Navya and Aaradhya. He wrote:
“My very dearest Navya and Aaradhya, You both carry a very valuable legacy on your tender shoulders – Aaradhya, the legacy of your pardadaji, Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan…and Navya, the legacy of your pardadaji , Shri H P Nanda….Both your pardadajis gave your present surnames celebrated fame, dignity and recognition! Both of you may be a Nanda or a Bachchan, but you are also girls…women! And because you are women people will force their thinking, their boundaries on you. They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet and where you can go. Don’t live in the shadows of people’s judgement. Make your own choices in the light of your own wisdom. Don’t let anyone make you believe that the length of your skirt is a measure of your character. Don’t let anyone’s opinion of who you should be friends with, dictate who you will be friends with. Don’t get married for any other reason other than you want to get married. People will talk. They shall say some terrible things. But that doesn’t mean you have to listen to everyone. Never ever worry about – log kya kahenge. At the end of the day, you are the only one who will face the consequences of your actions, so don’t let other people make your decisions for you. Navya – the privilege your name, your surname offers you, will not protect you from the difficulties you will face because you’re a woman. Aaradhya – by the time you see and understand this, I may well not be around. But I think what I am saying today shall still be relevant. This may be a difficult, difficult world to be a woman. But I believe that it is women like you that will change that. It may not be easy, setting your own boundaries, making your own choices, rising above people’s judgement. But YOU! you can set an example for women everywhere. Do this and you would have done more than I have ever done, and it will be my honor to be known not as Amitabh Bachchan, but as your grandfather!! With all my love Your Dadaji your Nana.”

When Esha delivered her first child i.e., Radhya, elated nani Hema expressed the feeling of being a grandmother again and shared:
“It’s such a beautiful feeling to become a grandmom again! I am very excited right now. Even Dharmendra ji is very happy. Esha is doing well, and the newborn baby girl, whom Esha and her husband Bharat Takhtani have decided to name Radhya, is so sweet and lovely-looking, like a little doll! My Mathura people are very happy. Krishna ki nagri hai, toh Radha Rani is important there.”
Adding further, Hema ji stated:
“I was equally excited when Darien (son of Ahana Deol, Hema’s younger daughter) was born. But he has grown up so fast, and now goes to playschool. But I am scared to hold these babies, though I did it in my time. In the next few years, even Radhya will grow up and start going to school... how time flies! But I am happy seeing the way Esha and Bharat are handling things. They are so excited, almost as if they have a little new toy to play with! Ahana is helping Esha, since she’s more experienced. Nowadays, there are so many things to help both the parents and the child, which we didn’t have in our times.”

So it’s all very simple and beautiful between us.”
Dadi Neelima Azeem shared:
“I am very excited and happy and so looking forward to my second grandchild! I am very happy for Misha too as she will have a sibling and a playmate. Now the family will be complete. The kind of happiness that Misha has given all of us and given me has been amazing! Misha is my world so I am very excited to have another grandchild! When you hold a little baby in your arms everything fades away and only a huge feeling of gratitude remains. It doesn’t matter to us whether the baby will be a boy or a girl – it should be healthy. I have two wonderful sons and they are such good and loving boys that I never felt I lacked in anything. Shahid and Ishaan had an age difference of 13 years and then I used to want a daughter. When I heard that Mira had delivered a little girl I was over the moon. Now I have a lovely daughter in Mira and a granddaughter. Everything has turned out very well and now we are looking forward to the little one. God is great!”

Aditya Chopra’s mother, Pamela Chopra too, shared her excitement of becoming a grandma. In an interview, Pamela ji said:
“It’s difficult to describe the feeling. To say that I am ecstatic or thrilled would be downplaying my emotions… I have been dying to become a grandmother for years now and Adi was just not obliging me. And every time I spoke to Uday about having a child, he would tell me, ‘Don’t expect me to get married to give you one…’ or ‘Then you have to wait…’ When Adi got married, I knew he and Rani were quite ready to have a baby but then it wasn’t happening. Finally, one day, when Rani got pregnant, Adi took me very quietly aside in another room as we having dinner with other people and told me. Adi said, ‘Guess what? Rani’s pregnant.’ I almost screamed out! You can’t explain that wonderful feeling; and the fact is that you live with that feeling always… Even now when I think about my grandchild, I feel my heart skip a beat and that fluttery feeling in my stomach. My heart is so full of joy!”
She further added:
“I think all grannies spoil their grandchildren. When Adi and Uday were children I was very tough with them. When Yash and I would go on our holidays my mother used to come and spend time with them. I would give her lot of instructions and tell her not to spoil them but she would tell me point-blank — ‘I am going to spoil them! I have come for just two months and I can’t become bad in their eyes. You can discipline them for the rest of 10 months you are with them.”

I told him how can you give him the box without writing anything on it? He then wrote, “To naughty one from the nana whom you love.” That was his style. He could have written, “From the Nana who loves you.” I have clicked a picture and preserved it. When Aarav grows up, I shall present it to him.”
