Boman Irani is one of the most loved veteran actors in Bollywood. He is best known for playing comedic characters in renowned films like 3 Idiots, Munnabhai MBBS, Dilwale, Housefull 3, and Khosla Ka Ghosla, among others. Although he primarily works in Hindi-language films, recently, he has stepped into the world of Telugu cinema for the third time with Maruthi's The Raja Saab. For the unversed, the film, which also stars superstar actor, Prabhas, is set to release just a couple of days from now, on January 9, 2026. Ahead of this, Boman Irani, who is currently 66 years old, talked about how he performed his own stunts in the film despite the risks involved.
On Monday, January 5, 2026, Boman Irani attended a special pre-release event of his upcoming film, The Raja Saab, in Mumbai. Here, among the many things that he spoke of in front of the audience was the joy of taking risks at this stage in his career. He shared that during the film's shooting, he witnessed his body double attempt a number of bold stunts. This motivated him to try and push his boundaries and do them himself. Gathering his confidence, he went to The Raja Saab's director, Maruthi, and expressed his desire on the same. Naturally, his sudden decision provoked worry and concern in Maruthi. Boman Irani recalled:
"Maruthi asked, 'Are you sure, sir?' I said yes. Kya hi hoga, ek do scratches lagenge zyada se zyada.”

Being the legend that he is, Boman Irani further added that, with his experience, it is better to try something than to fear the risks. There's no point in being scared. To quote his exact words:
"Mera jo experience hai, ye hai ki darne se achchha hai karne se. What's the point of being afraid? Try toh karo.”

The reason why Boman Irani's words were so shocking is that the veteran actor is currently 66 years old. In fact, in 2026, he is supposed to turn another year older. However, Boman Irani revealed that he doesn't let his age stop him from doing anything, not even the risky stunts. He gave the example of his school friends and stated that none of them have the kind of opportunities he has, which is why he grabs them with both hands and enjoys “every single stunt.” Recounting how he performed the stunts for the Prabhas starrer, The Raja Saab, he said:
"Idhar ghumaya, udhar ghumaya, lekin maza aata hai. Nothing's going to happen. All you'll have is a memory and a few cuts. Cuts heal, but memories never fade. I'm very grateful I can do this at this age."

The Raja Saab is directed by the renowned filmmaker, Maruthi. For those unaware, he is also the man behind several successful Telugu movies like Pakka Commercial, Prati Roju Pandage, Mahanubhavudu, and more. On a video shared to the film's X (formerly Twitter) account, Maruthi revealed that while the Telugu audience has seen the “entertaining side of Prabhas…PAN India hasn't.” This film will definitely make audiences remember him for years to come.
