Boney Kapoor's elder daughter, Janhvi Kapoor is dating her longtime beau, Shikhar Pahariya. According to reports, Janhvi was in a relationship with him before she joined films. However, they had a breakup during her debut film, but remained friends. However, in 2023, Janhvi accidentally revealed Shikhar as one of the most important people in her life. While she is in no mood to hide her relationship status, her father, Boney Kapoor, doesn't want to get clicked with his daughter's boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya.
On March 11, 2024, Boney Kapoor was papped at the Mumbai airport. He was accompanied by his daughter's bae, Shikhar Pahariya. While Boney seemed to be in a jolly mood, he instantly became serious when a pap asked him to pose with Shikhar. Boney instantly refused to click with him. Not only this, he added not to take his picture. He was quoted as saying:
"Saath mein nahi. Photo uska daalna hi mat."

Janhvi is head over heels in love with Shikhar. During an interaction with Karan Johar, she heaped praises on her beau, Shikhar and stated that he has always been with her from the start. Not just her, but her entire family, including her father, Boney Kapoor. She stated that Shikhar had been there in a selfless way through the toughest time of her life. She said:
“I will say this, I think not just for me, but for her (pointing to Khushi) and for dad (Boney Kapoor) and for everyone in our family, he’s been there from the start. As a friend, in whatever capacity and not in a way that made me feel like he’s expecting anything or he’s a pushover, any of those things. He was just there in a very selfless, dignified way and in a way that I have not seen many men capable of being for another human being.”
Earlier, when Janhvi made an appearance on the chat show, Koffee With Karan 8, the actress revealed how Shikhar Pahariya wooed her with a song. The actress revealed that it was after they had broken up and Shikhar wanted to reconcile with her, and would often sing the song, Nadaan Parindey from the film, Rockstar. She was quoted as saying:
“Have you heard that song, Nadaan Parinde Ghar Aaja? Shikhar used to sing that to me a lot.”
