Earlier, in an interview ETimes, Boney Kapoor had talked about his first film, Hum Paanch and revealed how he paid his father's debt after the film became a hit. The producer also mentioned that his father had even suggested him to take a foreign tour as he was left with 1 lakh rupees after paying the debt. Talking more about it, he said:
"Hum Paanch was released and it became a hit and we had enough money to pay off our dad's debts. One lakh rupees were left. So my father said, Boney, go abroad. Anil, Sanjay, Reena all have been abroad, but you haven't. Go to London."

In the same interview with The New Indian, Boney had opened up about rumours of Sridevi being pregnant with Janhvi Kapoor before their marriage. Talking about the same, the producer revealed that they got married on June 2, however, after Sridevi's pregnancy was seen, they had to marry publicly in January 1997. In his words:
"My marriage to Sri took place in Shirdi, on June 2. That’s when we exchanged vows. We were there, we spent the night there. And it was only in January 1997, when her pregnancy was seen, that we had no choice but to marry publicly. In public, we were married only in January 1997. There are still some scribes who write that Janhvi was conceived before marriage."
