Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were Hollywood's power couple. They left their fans heartbroken when they announced their separation in 2016, two years after tying the knot. As their divorce details get finalised, the couple's legal battle has once again gained attention. The couple is involved in a high-profile legal battle over the French winery, Chateau Miraval.
As per a report in People, Brad Pitt has sued Angelina Jolie for USD 35 million in damages over the sale of Chateau Miraval. Pitt’s legal team submitted evidence of the communications from Jolie’s team regarding the sale of the French winery in 2021. Responding to it, Jolie’s lawyer wrote:
“We note that the burdensome nature of any production is a matter of [Pitt’s] own creation — he is suing Jolie for USD 35 million in damages. As a result, he has to incur the expense of producing the documents that will show (or not show) those damages.”

The October 2023 email from Angelina Jolie’s team also stated that Brad Pitt sought damages for alleged harm to Miraval’s ongoing operations. Jolie’s team also mentioned Pitt’s continuous refusal to produce the legal documents, as they are key to the case.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie purchased the French winery, Château Miraval, when they were married. He claimed she sold off her stake in the company to a third party without his consent. Brad filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife, Angelina, in February 2022, alleging that she had made the sale despite a prior agreement that neither would do so without the other's approval.

On June 30, 2025, the F1 star filed a court document detailing his efforts to depose Alexey Oliynik, an employee of the Stoli Group. The actor claimed that Alexey had firsthand knowledge of Angelina Jolie's 2021 sale of the French winery. Both Brad and Angelina own 50 per cent of Miraval. Angelina used her LLC, Nouvel, to purchase her shares. Brad used his LLC, named Mondo Bongo, to buy his interest. However, Nouvel sued Brad for 350 million US dollars, accusing him of misusing the winery's assets.
