BSF Constable Rambabu Singh Attained 'Veergati', Was Shot On Border, Got Married Four Months Ago

Our armed forces have been securing the borders with all their might, especially since 26 innocent lives were lost in the tragic Pahalgam Attack on April 22, 2025. While the forces joined fronts and avenged the death of victims with their precision strike on May 7, 2025, Pakistan's cowardly attack on the border left some of our soldiers injured and martyred. Among the injured bravehearts was the BSF jawan Rambabu Singh, who succumbed to his injuries on May 13, 2025, days after being injured. 

Rambabu Singh attained veergati days after being injured in Indo-Pak cross-border firing

Rambabu Singh hailed from Siwan district in Bihar and was fighting along with his brave soldier brothers on the Indo-Pak border on May 9, 2025, when he got shot by the adversaries in Jammu and Kashmir. The soldier was only 26 years old and fought for his life for days before attaining veergati on May 13, 2025. He succumbed to the injuries during the ongoing 'Operation Sindoor'. His body was brought to his village, Vasilpur, on May 14, 2025, and left all the villagers in a cast of prideful grief.

Rambabu Singh got married only four months ago

Rambabu Singh showed extreme bravery and courage while serving the nation on the front lines. According to a report by BiharFirst, the soldier wanted to serve the nation since he was little. They also revealed that the jawan got married four months ago, in February 2025, before being posted to the conflicted area. The news of his martyrdom had left his entire village in a state of shock and grief. Rambabu's father had passed away earlier. In conversation with a local reporter, Rambabu's widow also shared that she is devastated but extremely proud of her husband. 

Bihar Cheif Minister, Nitish Kumar express his heartfelt condolences 

Army officials and district authorities attended the funeral. Rambabu's father-in-law revealed that arrangements for his state funeral were already made, and the last rites will take place in the afternoon of May 14, 2025. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also expressed his heartfelt condolences over the loss of the young army man. The state government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 50 lakh for the martyr's next of kin. He stated:

"The country will always remember Ram Babu Singh’s sacrifice. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family."

About the Pahalgam attack and 'Operation Sindoor'

The Pahalgam attack occurred in the late afternoon of April 22, 2025, after unidentified gunmen opened fire on innocent civilians in Pahalgam's Baisaran in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the reports, there have been 26 deaths. As a response to the attack, it was in the early hours of May 7, 2025, when the Ministry of Defence made a press release, sharing about 'Operation Sindoor'. They revealed that at 1:44 am, they had carried out a precision strike and attacked nine terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They shared that these were the hideouts from where attacks against India were planned and directed. The release also clarified that their actions had been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature.
