Candace Cameron Bure is a popular American actress, who has built a huge fanbase for herself. She has been a popular face in the entertainment industry since decades. The actress, who started from television and then went on to become a well-known figure, recently took an indirect dig at the users, who body shamed her on her now-deleted photo in a swimsuit.
Recently, Full House actress, Candace took to her Instagram handle and engaged in a lighthearted, ask me anything session. What was supposed to be a fun session, soon became serious, when one user asked her about her latest post in a bikini, which the actress later deleted. To which the actress, decided to address the issue and said:
"Yes. I was at the beach. I was in a one piece, not a bikini. I am soaking up the end of summer. I was having fun. It wasn't about my bathing suit or my body. But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body. It wasn't worth it. I took it down."
This was not the first time Candace had addressed negativity, there have been times, when she has courageously spoken about dealing with body image struggles. In 2018, Candace was criticised on social media by a user, who had said, "All that exercising, and you still look like you weigh more than your husband, did you change your diet?" To this, Candace Cameron did not stay silent, but rather, she replied by saying, "If a 25-inch waist looks big to you … then you’re looking through an altered lens. Be well."
Earlier, in April 2025, Candace spoke about her insecurities in one of the episodes of her podcast. In that episode, she shared about the memories of being insecure as a young kid. She had mentioned that since the age of 12, she had tried all possible diet plans, but nothing worked out for her. She acknowledged that her ongoing struggles with food were rooted in a history of eating disorders. She also spoke about a dream, which she linked to a Biblical story. In it, a man named 'Balaam' harshly beat his donkey. While talking about that, she got emotional and revealed:
"I wake up from this dream one morning and God just vividly showed me that I’ve been like Balaam. I’ve whipped my body. I’ve spoken to it so harshly. So mean. What are you doing? Why do you look this way? Why are you fat? Why can’t you be like every other body?"
Candace Cameron was born on April 6, 1976, and she earned fame at the age of 11, with the role of 'D. J. Tanner' on Full House. After that, she continued acting in TV with projects like No One Would Tell and She Cried No. Later, she did a television show, Make It or Break It. Apart from acting, she is also a New York Times bestselling author. Some of her books include Reshaping It All, Balancing It All, Dancing Through Life and more. In her personal life, Candace married Valeri in 1996, and they have three children, Natasha, Lev and Maksim.
