Subsequently, she was taken to a nearby hospital in "serious condition," where she was later pronounced dead. But no official cause of death has been released by her family or representatives.

Meanwhile, a couple of hours after the news broke, Journalist, Jeff Jeff Sneider posted on X and claimed that the veteran actress had been receiving treatment for cancer in Toronto. The claim spread rapidly across social media and received mixed reactions of grief and anger from fans. However, this information remains unverified. Neither her representatives nor her family has confirmed that Catherine was undergoing cancer treatment. At the same time, no medical details have been formally disclosed.

Catherine was also known to have situs inversus, a rare congenital condition where internal organs are mirrored. But there is no credible proof that linked her illness to her passing.
