The music world has suffered back-to-back losses in 2025, and to add to it, the sudden death of Ace Frehley, the legendary KISS guitarist, left fans in shock. Ace, who earned a name from his electrifying on-stage performances and iconic 'Superman' persona, suddenly passed away after brief hospitalisation at 74. It sparked numerous fan theories, speculations, and unanswered questions. However, now, weeks after his death, we have finally gained some clarity on what caused the loss of one of the greatest rock icons.
According to reports obtained by TNZ and the People, the Morris County Medical Examiner's Office in New Jersey has officially ruled out Ace Frehley's death as an accident. The findings by the authorities revealed that the Musician had died from blunt trauma injuries to the head, sustained during an accidental fall at his Morristown home. The report confirmed that he passed away on October 26, 2925, just days after cancelling his upcoming tour due to ongoing medical concerns.

Back on October 7, 2025, Ace's team had announced he was pulling out of his remaining three days following a 'minor fall' in his studio. However, the situation appeared to be more serious than initially thought. Later, his family shared an official statement to USA TODAY that he died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loved ones. Some parts of their statement read:
"We are completely devastated and heartbroken. In his last moments, we surrounded him with loving words, prayers, and peaceful intentions as he left this earth."

Ace Frehley co-founded KISS in 1973 alongside Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss. They all made significant contributions to shaping the band's signature sound and flamboyant stage style. Especially, the fierce guitar solos and grand stage presence of Ace earned him a loyal fan following, which stood by him until his death. Some of their popular albums, such as Destroyer and Love Gun, highlighted their skills and established them as one of rock's most influential guitarists.

Beyond the stage performances, Ace Frehley's personal life often made headlines for a variety of reasons. He tied the knot with Italian-American actress, Jeanette Trerotola on May 1, 1976, during the peak of KISS's fame. Soon, they welcomed their only daughter, Monique, in 1980. However, his rising fame and frequent touring have an impact on his marriage. According to Space Ace Online, Ace Frehley's rockstar lifestyle created challenges that eventually led to a separation.

Despite the turbulent marriage, Jeanette was always an importance part of his life, especially in raising their daughter. At the same time, after their separation, Ace was linked to several women, including a groupie, Audrey Hamilton, and an author, Wendy Moore, who shared the insights from their relationship in her book. Ace even got engaged multiple times, notably to singer Rachael Gordon in 2019 and later to teacher Lara Cove, with whom he dated until mid-2024.
Ace Frehley was a doting father to his only daughter, Monique, and shared a close relationship with her. She was born in 1960 and occasionally appeared alongside him at social media events. In 2024, the father-daughter duo even got matching 'Ace' tattoos to show their deep and inseparable bond. Monique also followed in her father's footsteps, pursuing a creative career in music.
