The moment when we think of an Indian bride, the first picture that flashes in our mind is of a young girl donning the prettiest red lehenga with a coy smile. Since time immemorial, red was considered the auspicious colour for a bride getting married. Over the years, we have seen brides ditching the traditional red lehengas and experimenting with every colour of the rainbow palette.
We have seen brides looking pretty in pink-hued lehengas to maroon, grey and whatnot. However, now brides have shifted their preference to white-coloured lehengas. In many Indian traditions, a new bride is not allowed to wear white for the first year of the wedding. But the new-age brides are breaking the notion and opting for serene white for their wedding festivities. Let's take a look at the celebrity brides, who had worn white lehenga for their special day.

Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's daughter, Isha Ambani had tied the knot with the love of her life, Anand Piramal on December 12, 2018. For the wedding day, Isha had worn a beautiful white lehenga, which holds a lot of sentiments for her and her family. The lehenga was designed by designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Her outfit had featured a 16-panelled ghagra in two shades of off-white with Mughal jaalis. She had incorporated her mom, Nita Ambani's wedding saree, as a dupatta.
Anil Kapoor's daughter, Rhea Kapoor had tied the knot with her longtime beau, Karan Boolani in an intimate ceremony on August 14, 2021. For the ceremony, Rhea had donned a white chanderi saree designed by Anamika Khanna. She had accentuated her look with a unique pearl veil. Rhea's unconventional look was completed with her mother, Sunita Kapoor's jewellery.

Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal had got married in a hush-hush ceremony on January 24, 2021. For the mehendi function, Varun Dhawan's wife, Natasha Dalal had donned a beautiful white lehenga. The outfit was embroidered with gold micro florals with accents of pastel pink and lilac motifs. Her choli was embellished with delicate crystal detailings and scallop-border dupatta had accentuated her look.
Sonam Kapoor is a forever muse of the designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. She had turned showstopper for the designer duo many times and had opted for their whimiscial white outfit for her mehendi ceremony. In fact, Sonam had finalised her mehendi outfit three years before her wedding was finalised from Sandeep Khosla-Abu Jani.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had become each other's 'forever' in an intimate wedding in Tuscany, Italy. Deepika and Ranveer had hosted a couple of receptions for their family, friends and industry friends after coming back to Mumbai. In one of the receptions, Deepika had stunned us with a chikankari white ensemble, which had taken 16,000 man-hours to be created.

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had tied the knot on July 7, 2015 in a hush-hush ceremony. However, it was their wedding reception in Mumbai that had made a lot of noise in Bollywood. For the reception ceremony, Mira had donned an unconventional ensemble from the designer, Manish Malhotra's shelves. The ensemble had featured a white-hued sleeveless blouse with pearl embellishment and a matching white lehenga skirt with blue floral motifs.
