Celina Jaitly Thrown Out Of House By Husband, Peter, 3 Weeks After Childbirth, 'Stitches Had Not...'

Former actress, Celina Jaitly is making headlines after announcing her divorce from her husband and Austrian entrepreneur, Peter Haag. Recently, she has moved to the Mumbai Court and filed a domestic violence case against her husband. The couple shares three children. The petition was filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The petition includes serious charges like emotional, physical, s*xual, and verbal abuse. Amid the chaos, a shocking incident that Celina faced back in 2017 surfaced online.

According to SCREEN, Celina Jaitly’s petition was drafted by Karanjawala & Co. The former actress accused her husband, Peter, of underestimating her repeatedly through racist comments. As per the petition, Peter allegedly referred to Celina as 'maidservant' and claimed that she closely resembles his maid. These kinds of insensitive remarks took a toll on Celina’s mental health. The petition also noted that during 2017 and 2018, Celina went through a lot of personal losses, including her son, Samshera’s death, and her parents’ demise, and her husband did not spare her during that tough phase. He allegedly pressured her to transfer her Mumbai residence into his name. During that phase, Celina was battling serious mental health issues, including depression.

The petition filed by Celina also holds a record of a shocking incident that she faced soon after giving birth to her baby. Just like any other couple, Celina too wanted her husband, Peter, to be by her side as she struggled hard through her post-partum phase. 

As per the petition, Celina’s stitches were not healed, and she could barely walk. Three weeks after giving birth, Celina reportedly asked her husband, Peter, if he could consider extending his paternity leave and help her with the children. This request made Peter angry, who grabbed Celina’s wrist and threw her out of the house. At that time, she was left alone in the hallway and was in her breastfeeding clothes. However, a neighbour came to her rescue. An excerpt from the petition can be read as:

"Her stitches had not healed, she was barely able to walk... at three weeks post-partum, she asked her husband if he could consider extending his paternity leave until her stitches had healed and help her with the children. However, he once again flew into a rage and called Celina thankless. He grabbed her by the wrist and physically pushed her out of the apartment, saying, 'Get out of my life.' Celina was left stranded in the hallway in breastfeeding clothing... A neighbour saw the actress and rushed to her rescue."

Why did Celina Jaitly get separated from her husband, Peter Haag?

According to an ANI report, Celina had filed a domestic violence case against her husband, Peter Haag. Following that, the former actress announced her divorce and her legal battle to regain custody of her children. According to multiple reports, Celina filed a complaint against her husband, Peter, claiming severe physical, verbal, and financial abuse. She was reportedly forced to flee from their Austrian home in the middle of the night and returned to India on October 11, 2025, leaving behind her three children.

After her return to India, Celina allegedly learned that Peter had initiated legal proceedings to transfer her Mumbai home. He also restricted Celina’s ability to meet her children. As per the petition, Celina has only been granted interaction with her children on November 14, 2025. The former actress claimed Rs. 10 lakh as maintenance from Peter and has also sought Rs. 50 crore as compensation for loss of earnings.
