Millions of people move to Mumbai with a dream of making a name in the entertainment industry but only some rule the silver screens. Some just don't get the right roles and are thus, underutilised by the industry. Once a heartthrob, Chandrachur Singh had made his debut in Bollywood with the film, Maachis in 1996 and came into limelight with his immaculate performance. Chandrachur became an overnight teen sensation with Maachis and was a part of a few more hit films, Dil Kya Kare, Josh, Kya Kehna, Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa before he disappeared, taking a sabbatical from movies. Chandrachur's journey in the films was cut short due to an accident but he made an impressive comeback with the web series, Aarya.

Chandrachur Singh used to perform a bit in school and was a part of the theatre group in college. After a few years of struggle, Chandrachur received the offer of his first film by destiny and since then, as he says, 'it has been a roller-coaster ride'. Now, Chandrachur wants to do all sorts of films and play all sorts of characters he can as there's no image stuck on him. While that was about Chandrachur's professional front, not much is known about his personal life. Chandrachur was married to Avantika Mankotia and the couple became proud parents to a baby boy, Shaarnajai Singh. Though what happened between Chandrachur and Avantika is still unknown, the actor had revealed that he is a single father to their son now.
In an interview with ETimes, Chandrachur Singh spoke about being a single father to his son, revealed what he was up to while he was away and why he's not active on social media. When asked, "What have you been up to while you were away?", Chandrachur retorted, "Actually, I am a single father so that took up most of my time. I am pretty hands-on; I needed to be. So, I was occupied being a father for most of my time." Revealing why he isn't active on social media, Chandrachur said, "I am actually not very skilled at handling social media. My son is going to teach me more about it. It is not my cup of tea so far but there will be a time when I will have much more work and I can then connect with the people about my work. Otherwise, I am not very media savvy."
The nation knows how Chandrachur Singh is as an actor but not everyone knows how he is as a father. Throwing some light on that aspect of his life, Chandrachur said, "I don’t know. I guess my son would be the best person to answer this question. I believe that I keep learning on the job. Parenting, I think, is one of the toughest jobs. You make mistakes, you have your good moments, you keep learning and try to become better."

I couldn’t shoot at a stretch, the pain would often become unbearable and I would have to leave shoots midway. Also, due to the medication, my weight would fluctuate drastically." Chandrachur stopped taking up projects and it acted as a halt in his career.
Chandrachur Singh was a music teacher before he stepped into the acting industry and a few years after doing some films, he traded his reel life for the real.
