Charlie Kirk's Wife, Erika Gets Emotional, As She Remembers The Call, The Video And Final Moments

What happened to Charlie Kirk will always be remembered. The heartbreaking incident left his family heartbroken. And now, his wife, Erika Kirk, has spoken up about the unfateful day during the conversation with Jesse Watter. She recalled the call, the video of her husband's assassination, and her final moments with Charlie.

Erika Kirk reveals she will never watch the video of her husband's brutal assassination

CEO of Turning Point USA, Erika Kirk, shared her emotional journey of coping with her husband Charlie Kirk's death during an interview with Fox News host, Jesse Watter. During the conversation, she was asked if she had seen the video that went viral on social media from that day. Responding to Jesse, Erika revealed she intentionally avoided watching the video of the shooting. She was quoted as saying:

"I never saw the video, I never will see it. There are certain things you see in your life that you can never unsee. There are certain things you see that mark your soul forever. I don’t want my husband’s death to be something I ever see. I don’t want my kids to see it either."

The night before Charlie Kirk's assassination and the dreadful call

In the same conversation, Erika Kirk recalled the night before the shooting, when she and her daughter slept in the couple's bed while Charlie took their daughter's room to get a "good night’s sleep". The couple had not, in their wildest dreams, imagined it would be the last time she would see Charlie alive. For the unversed, Erika had stayed in Arizona to look after her mother, who was dealing with a medical issue. She recalled how excited her husband was for the meet and stated:

"That night, he was so excited. I mean, he was like, I can’t wait, it’s going to be the best. I didn’t even get to give him a goodbye kiss. Charlie was like, home needs you. Home needs you, be home. Come with me on Thursday to the next event we have.”

However, little did Erika know that she would never see her husband again. She recalled how she and her mother were watching the video in the doctor's office when she received the call that changed her life. Erika revealed that she got a call from Mikey saying, "He's been shot; get the kids. Get security, get the kids, he's been shot." She further shared that Charlie died almost instantly, and she was glad that 'he didn't suffer'. 

Erika Kirk recalls seeing her husband for the last time

In the same conversation, Erika Kirk revealed that she has often expressed safety concerns about Charlie's heated campus debate. She recalled that she would often ask him to wear a bulletproof vest. However, Charlie always declined, saying that if they were to kill him, they would do it regardless, and he was right, as a vest couldn't have protected him from the bullet. 

Erika also reflected on her last moments with Charlie Kirk in the hospital. She revealed that as soon as she arrived in Utah, all she wanted was to see her husband. While she was stopped by a police officer, who advised her to wait for the mortuary. She insisted on seeing him and stated:

"With all due respect, sir. I want to see what they did to my husband, and I want to give him a kiss because I didn’t get to give him a kiss this morning. When you see someone at the mortuary, they never look the same. He was still warm, and his eyes were slightly open. It was so powerful, Jesse. He had this smirk on his face."
