Charu Asopa is a famous actress in the television world, who recently made it to the headlines after her online clothes-selling video went viral. After the same, the Hindustan Times contacted her when she confirmed that she had left Mumbai and quit acting. Charu's ex-husband, Rajeev Sen was asked about the actress' claims of facing financial crunches. To which, Rajeev hinted at Charu not going through a challenging phase financially and mentioned that she recently afforded a cruise trip. Now, Charu hit back at her ex-husband.
Recently, Charu Asopa sat for an interview with ETimes, wherein she was asked about Rajeev's claims that her claiming to be in a tough phase financially and affording a cruise trip on the other hand. Replying to the same, Charu said that her cruise trip was a collaboration and she didn't have to pay a penny for the same. She mentioned that all the expenses there were covered under promotional charges. Charu further revealed that she has her clothing business going on for a year now, and she didn't talk about her financial struggles until the video of her went viral.
In the same interview, while talking about Rajeev's comment on her claims of financial struggles, Charu said that some people never had to go through hardship in their lives, which is why they find it easy to comment. Charu further mentioned that some of these people don't even know how to arrange for loans and have no idea about the hardships of middle-class people. She further slammed Rajeev for his claims that she didn't let him meet Ziana and revealed that even after the divorce, she remained in contact with him and his family for their daughter. Charu can be quoted as saying:
"The thing is people who have not seen hardships in life, it is very easy for them to comment. They have never seen in life how people arrange for loans. They don’t know the hardships of middle class people. I don't know why he is saying that I don't let him meet Ziana."
In the same interview, Charu said that she never wanted her personal life to grab this much attention, but when someone speaks, and the other responds, it turns into a cycle, which then goes on a loop and creates unnecessary drama. She further talked about coming back to Mumbai, to take away her expensive belongings and mentioned that she has not been swimming in money, and thus, people shouldn't hold any kind of misconception about the same. Charu also expressed her hurt and disappointment over people attaching her personal matter to her ex-husband, Rajeev Sen and ex-sister-in-law, Sushmita, and requested people not to do the same.
Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen got married in 2019, and it was in 2023, when the couple was officially divorced. After their divorce was confirmed, Rajeev was asked about the alimony amount that was offered to Charu. To this, Rajeev told TOI that Charu didn't take any alimony, however, he expressed his wish to help their daughter, Ziana financially and support her education in every way possible.
