Charu Asopa has been making most of her time enjoyable at work, ever since she resumed shooting with the television serial, Kaisa Yeh Rishta Anjanasa. For the unversed, the actress has gone through a lot in her personal life, after her ugly spat and subsequent divorce with her ex-husband, Rajeev Sen grabbed a lot of media attention. Currently, Charu is balancing her hectic schedule along with her mommy duties for her 18-month-old daughter, Ziana.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Charu Asopa opened up on her struggles, when she stepped into Mumbai with dreams of becoming an actress. She revealed that she was joined by her full family when she came from Bikaner. She also mentioned how she was frequently joined by her mother for auditions, since everyone was apprehensive about the industry. In her words:
“When I had left Bikaner, I only had dreams in my eyes. When I first came to Mumbai, my entire family came with me. I got a house on rent and after I settled, my father and brother left. My mother stayed back and would accompany me to the auditions and meetings. We had heard so much about the industry that she didn’t want to leave me alone.”

Moving further in the interview, Charu recalled that one moment when she faced a horrible incident of casting couch. She was barely 20-21 years old at that time, and revealed meeting a producer from a big production house. She revealed that the person told her to compromise with a few known people, to which she straight up refused to do. In her words:
“I went for a movie meeting during that phase and met a producer from a very well-known production house. The casting director kept the contract in front of me, I had a pen in my hand, and I could have signed the contract and bagged the opportunity. Par jo baat kahi casting director ne uske baad mujhe 3 din tak bukhar nahi uttra. He asked me to compromise with a few people he knew. I turned it down straight.”
In the same interaction, Charu Asopa shared the countless times when she faced rejection in the industry. She mentioned how she would make attempts to look good and travel to the place of audition, but by the time she would reach, everything would become faded and she looked messed up. Charu added how she then started to carry three outfits and shoes along with her, and would use them to change for walk-in auditions.

In the concluding segment of the interview, Charu was asked if her work preferences have altered in any way now, since she happened to be a single parent as well. To this, she mentioned everything in that regard would depend on her financial stability. She revealed that if there would come a moment when it started to get very difficult for her to manage financially, she would not think twice before any opportunity that came her way.
