Famous chef, Vikas Khanna, known for his magical recipes worldwide, lost the most precious relationship in March 2022, when his sister passed away. Vikas Khanna has been going around the world, and has attained massive success, but the untimely demise of his sister, Radhika Khanna, left a permanent void in his heart, so much so that he has to undergo therapies for the same. Vikas Khanna opened up about the same in a podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia for the first time.
Recently, Vikas appeared on Ranveer's podcast, wherein he bared his heart out on the most emotional moment. Vikas revealed that he knew his sister was sick, and one day, he was in ICU with her, and it was COVID hours. After 5 pm, the nurse came and asked him to leave as the visiting hours were over. However, Vikas didn't like the fact that an Italian family was sitting with the patient during the visiting hours.

Vikas shouted at the nurse, and that's when she told him that the patient had only a few hours left. From that day, he prayed that this wouldn't happen to him, but the fear came true when, in March 2022, the nurse told him, 'visiting hours don't apply to him'. Talking about the same, Vikas said:
"The nurse told me that visiting hours do not apply to you. It was my biggest fear. When they say visiting hours do not apply to you it means the patients has few hours or minutes. Mai haath jod kar bol raha hoonp please apply this.. Vo mera sabse bada fear tha, I can't get over it. When she passed away she was holding my hand."
Vikas further recalled his bond with his sister, Radhika and shared that sisters are different. He said, 'Jitna gussa behna chadwa sakti hai utna koi nahi chadwa skta.' He added that sisters are a form of mothers, daughters, and grandmothers, and they are the first ones to fight with the world and with you.
Recalling his sister's tough fight, Vikas Khanna revealed that he would cook three times food for his sister, Radhika, and she had a lot of demands. But one day, everything changed as the doctor told him that she would be fed through only 'tubes'. Vikas shared that it was his biggest fear. He was quoted as saying:
"I used to never let her eat hospital ka khanna. I would make her three meals... Aur uski demaande badhi hoti thi. One day, the doctor said she would only be fed by the tubes, so no more food for her. Mujhe laga I don't need to cook after this day anymore. Mera baccha. It was a fear of my life which came right here in my face. And she used to tell the doctor, 'Ap jo marji bolte raho mera bhai ko nai jaante vo itna bada pagal hai mujhe bacha kar le aayega."
On the work front, Vikas Khanna will soon open the doors to the biggest restaurant in New York, an eight-year project, and his sister started it.
