Christopher Emmanuel Paul, aka Chris Paul, was born on May 6, 1985, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to a hardworking couple, Charles Edward Paul and Robin Jones. His family gave him the nickname "CP3" because his father and brother, C.J. Paul Jr, also shared the same name. After he became a professional player, he decided to honor the family tradition and chose the number three whenever he played. Chris' grandfather was a former athlete, and when his two grandsons were growing up, he introduced them to basketball and football. Both brothers chose basketball, but only CP3 made it to the NBA after high school.
Not everyone knows that Chris Paul grew up sweeping floors at his family's service station, which not only humbled him but also taught him a lot about discipline. At the time when his game was gaining attention in high school, his grandfather, who introduced basketball to him, was murdered at the age of 61, and it changed his life forever. The tragedy became his fuel, and days later, while still in grief, Chris scored 61 points in a high-school game at the age of 17. The youngster scored 61 points, one for every year his grandfather lived, and intentionally missed the final three throws in order to complete his tribute.

Chris Paul's exceptional game in a moment of grief became a major talking point in high school columns, and many scouts started keeping an eye on him. When he went to Wake Forest University, he became a national sensation after leading the team to a 48-16 record and two NCAA Tournament appearances. Courtesy of his two exceptional seasons at Wake Forest, the New Orleans Hornets came knocking and selected him as the fourth overall pick of the 2005 NBA Draft. He won the Rookie of the Year award in 2006 and helped the Hornets achieve a franchise-record 56 wins.

After a successful stint with the New Orleans Hornets, Chris Paul joined the Los Angeles Clippers in 2011 and was traded to the Houston Rockets in 2017. In the following years, he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and San Antonio Spurs. In all these years, he won the 2013 NBA All-Star Game MVP, two Olympic gold medals (2008, 2012), and numerous individual titles. He also earned the title of "NBA's Point God" after becoming one of the few players in the game's history to reach 12,000-plus assists and 2,700-plus steals. After achieving it all, he rejoined the Clippers in 2025.

Chris Paul is one of the most decorated players in NBA history, yet despite all his success, he remains extremely grounded. The Clippers guard is married to Jada Crawley, and their love story is nothing less than a Hollywood rom-com. For the uninitiated, Chris attended West Forsyth High School, while Jada studied at Mount Tabor High School, and both schools were rivals. However, a mutual friend introduced them, after which Chris told his friend he would like to meet Jada again.

It was the beginning of Chris Paul and Jada Crawley's love story as both of them became friends during their teenage years and eventually started dating. As they grew up, Jada played a vital role in Chris' life, especially after he lost his grandfather, helping him chase his dream of playing in the NBA. They reportedly got engaged in 2007, and on May 23, 2009, Jada gave birth to their first child, a baby boy they named Christopher Emmanuel Paul II.

Finally, on September 10, 2011, Chris Paul and Jada Crawley got married at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the presence of their two-year-old son. In the following year, on August 16, 2012, their family was complete after Jada gave birth to a baby girl, Camryn Alexis Paul. Regarding Jada's profession, she is a fashion-minded entrepreneur who oversees most of the operations of the Chris Paul Family Foundation (CP3 Foundation). Not only this, but she is also the founder of Curated By Alexis P, which is a product-based initiative. We hope Jada continues to play a pivotal role in Chris' last years in the NBA.
