Indian comedian, Raju Srivastava, who kept us glued to our TV screens for ages, is currently battling between life and death. It was on August 10, 2022, when Raju was hospitalised in Delhi’s AIIMS, after collapsing on the treadmill in a South Delhi gym. Immediately after the unfortunate incident, the gym’s trainer had rushed him to the hospital and gave him CPR, followed by angioplasty.
Since Raju’s hospitalisation, fake news about his demise has been doing rounds on the internet, leaving his family and loved ones in a disturbed mental state. Now, the comedy king’s wife, Shikha Srivastava has opened up about his health condition and has made a special request to the internet users. For the unversed, Raju rose to fame after appearing on the show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005.
In a recent interview with the ETimes, Raju Srivastava’s wife, Shika Srivastava opened up about his health condition. She stated that Raju is stable, courtesy of doctors and the entire management team of the AIIMS hospital. She further added how she has complete faith that her hubby would recover and would get up on stage once again to make the world laugh with his witty jokes. She shared:
“Raju ji’s health is stable and doctors are doing their job very diligently and the entire management is working day and night to make sure that Raju ji gets well soon. We have full faith in them and Raju ji is a fighter and he is going to win this battle. He will fight it out and will come back to entertain you all, this is my promise to you all. We are getting wishes, blessings and a lot of people are praying and doing puja for his health and everyone’s vibration is very positive. I know the prayers are not going to go unanswered. I just want to urge everyone to continue praying for their health.”
When Shika was asked about the rumours which had stated that doctors have lost hope in Raju’s recovery and were waiting for a miracle, answering this, Shika called the reports baseless and urged his fans to believe in doctors and keep on praying. In her words:
“Doctors are present on earth in the form of God. They are doing very well, these rumours are baseless that they have given up. Things are being handled medically and it will take time to happen. We have to struggle and patiently wait for the struggles. Doctors and Raju ji both are fighting and everyone will get to know the positive results very soon. I promise that Raju will be back to entertain everyone."
In the same interview, the doting wife, Shikha passed on a request to all the internet users on behalf of Raju’s kids and the whole Srivastava family to stop spreading fake news about his demise, which is quite heartbreaking for them to go through at the moment. She said:
“I am requesting people with folded hands that please stop spreading these rumours about Raju’s health. Because of these rumours the family, the doctors and everyone’s morals go down. They are giving their best and we don’t want the negativity to affect them. Right now we need prayers and stop spreading negative news. These rumours are very disturbing."
We hope Raju recovers soon and start tickling our funny bones like he used to do!
