Cradlewise is one of the few brands in the health tech sector that continues to turn heads with its smart and technologically advanced products. The company creates products that are rich in technology so that the consumers can enhance their family time. Cradlewise recently received a huge shoutout and is now leading headlines in India and worldwide. Recently, the AI genius, Sam Altman took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle and lauded Cradlewise for the amazing crib he used for his baby boy.
Just like every parent in the world, Sam Altman admitted that he had bought a lot of silly baby things since the birth of his son in February 2025. However, OpenAI's CEO added that Cradlewise's crib is something that he found extremely helpful for his child.
Sam Altman, in his tweet, wrote, "We bought a lot of silly baby things that we haven't needed, but definitely I recommend a cradlewise crib and a lot more burp rags than you think you could possibly need". As soon as Sam Altman's tweet went live, Cradlwise's founder and CEO, Radhika Patil, reacted to the tech entrepreneur's review and replied by saying:
"Thanks for loving us @sama. The AI god's trust in the smarts of @cradlewise means a lot to us. Wishing you all more."
Cradlewise was founded back in 2017 by a Bengaluru-based couple, Radhika Patil and Bharath Patil. It was in 2019 that the entrepreneur-couple managed to raise funding of 1 million USD. With such strong funding, they scaled up their business, and in 2020, Cradlewise won TIME's Best Inventions Award. In the same year, they launched their company's pilot program in San Francisco.
The year 2021 was a crucial one for Radhika Patil and Bharath Patil as they raised funding of 7 million USD. It was a huge benchmark for the company. In 2022, Cradlewise started shipping cribs to the US, and in 2023, the company launched its first retail partnership in Babylist's retail store in Beverley Hills, LA. Courtesy of the startup's incredible success in the US and India, Cradlewise has received a shoutout in a series of global publications like Forbes, USA Today, TechCrunch, FastCompany, Babylist, and TIME.

Coming to the most-asked question about Cradlewise's journey, 'Why did Radhika Patil and Bharath Patil founded this company?' In a conversation with MumsAndStories, she opened up about her motherhood journey and shared how she suffered a lot because she and her baby girl couldn't sleep properly. After trying numerous methods, she built a homegrown hammock-based cradle that fixed her baby girl's sleeping cycle to a major extent. As the baby grew up, Radhika and Bharath continued adding more features like auto-swinging, a monitor to check the baby, using sensor technology, and more.
When Radhika Patil and her husband, Bharath Patil, were working on boosting their daughter's cradle with advanced technological features, their friends and relatives were also embracing parenthood and were going through the same sleeping crisis. As a result, Radhika talked with a pediatric sleep specialist to understand the baby's sleep challenges. After this, she and Bharath decided to build Cradlewise, and their second child, a baby boy, was the one with whom they tested their cradle for a long time. After so many years of hard work and continuous learning, Radhika and Bharath launched Cradlewise in 2017, and the rest is history.
