Indian cricketer, Ishwar Chand Pandey, commonly known as Ishwar Pandey has announced his retirement from International and first-class cricket on September 12, 2022. The decision came shortly after the squad list for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 was announced. The cricketer was bought by Chennai Super Kings back in 2014 for a whopping sum of Rs. 1.5 crores. The right-arm medium-fast bowler was also the leading wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy of the 2012-13 season. The bowler from Madhya Pradesh has confirmed his retirement with a note, which he wrote with a heavy heart.
For the unversed, Ishwar Pandey had tied the marital knot with the love of his life, Akshita Tiwari, back in July 2017. It was only last year, in December 2021, when Ishwar and Akshita had embraced parenthood after they had welcomed a baby girl into their lives. The much-in-love couple shares pictures and videos with their daughter on their respective social media handles, every now and then.

On September 12, 2022, Ishwar Pandey took to his Instagram handle and shared a series of pictures of a note written by him, along with a picture of himself in Team India's jersey for Test cricket. In the note, Ishwar announced his retirement from International and first-class cricket. The cricketer left everyone stunned with his retirement post after the squad list of Team India for the T20 World Cup was announced. In his retirement post, Ishwar thanked all his teammates, but mentioned Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Sachin Tendulkar separately. An excerpt from the same can be read as:
"To share dressing room with modern day greats like Virat Kohli MS Dhoni Yuvraj Singh Suresh Raina Ishant Sharma Ravindra Jadeja Bhuvneshwar Kumar was very special and to have played a match against Legend Sachin Tendulkar Sir was like a dream come true. I started watching cricket because of him and i have always admired hirn since my childhood. Cricket for me is everything and I will always love to be connected to this game. To all my fans and well wishers, I would like to thank you and I will want you all to keep supporting me with love you have always given to me. Forever and grateful and blessed - Ishwar Pandey."

As soon as Ishwar Panday announced his retirement from international and first-class cricket, his doting wife, Akshita Pandey took to her Instagram handle and shared some memorable pictures that describe his cricket journey. Along with the pictures, Akshita also penned a heartfelt note in the caption in which she lauded her husband for his contribution to Indian cricket. In her note, Akshita admitted that Ishwar's passion for cricket was one of the things that she liked about him the most. Reflecting on the same, her note can be read as:
"I still remember the first day I saw you in the field, never thought I would be so blessed to live the glorious life with you. I was so lucky to witness some of the best performances of yours in person.Your contribution to cricket has been enormous and I have always admired you for being such a passionate man towards tour game. You have always handled all your life problems with so much chivalry and composure."

Going further in her note, Akshita Pandey shared how her husband, Ishwar Pandey has always been faithful and sincere when it comes to playing cricket. However, she also stressed on the fact that in order to reach new heights, one needs to leave previous accomplishments. Calling him a 'white tiger', the doting wife admitted that she knows that cricket is her husband's first love, and added that it is the reason why she loves and respects him. Akshita concluded her note with a 'love you eternally', and it can be read as:
"Whatever you have achieved in your life is all because of your honesty and sincerity but if not the world, God knows that you deserved to accomplish so much more. But they say "To reach higher and better we need to leave from somewhere". I know the universe has a better plan for you in the future. You have always been a fighter and will continue to roar my white tiger. For all I know even after your retirement from cricket, it was and will be your first love forever. love you eternally @ishwar22."
