Criminal Justice has been one of the most popular web series, starring Pankaj Tripathi. While the franchise has recently released the much-awaited season 4, Criminal Justice: A Family Matter, fans are eagerly waiting for the next season. For the unversed, OTT platform JioHotstar released the Criminal Justice Season 4 in a weekly format, which created a hype surrounding the series. However, fans do not have to wait for too long for their favourite series, as the makers already have Season 5 on the cards. Yes, you read it right. So, without further ado, let’s jump in to know the release date of Criminal Justice Season 5.
For the uninitiated, Criminal Justice, the franchise released the last episode of season 4, Criminal Justice: A Family Matter, on July 3, 2025. Although there has been a constant demand for releasing the series all at once from the fans, the OTT platform ensured to release it only in a weekly format. The first three episodes of Criminal Justice Season 4 premiered on May 29, 2025. However, there was a lot of buzz surrounding the finale date of the series, as someone edited the Wikipedia page of the show and stated that the finale episode of Criminal Justice Season 4 was on June 26, 2025.
However, the information was incorrect, as the 7th episode of the series was released on that date. Now, that fans have got to know the real killer behind 'Roshni Saluja's' death, they are eagerly waiting to see 'Madhav Mishra' cracking down a new mystery. According to sources close to the franchise team, the makers have already started working on the script of Criminal Justice Season 5, and within two to three months, the script involving 'Madhav Mishra’s' new mystery-solving will be completed. The sources also disclosed that the shooting of Season 5 will start between September 2025 and October 2025, and fans can expect to see the new season in July 2026.
The makers have named the season 4, Criminal Justice: A Family Matter. So, before jumping to conclusions, let’s know the characters involved in the series and the brief storyline of the new season. Season 4 featured Pankaj Tripathi as 'Madhav Mishra', Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as 'Dr. Raj Nagpal', Surveen Chawla as 'Anju' Nagpal, 'Raj's' wife, Asha Negi as 'Roshni Saluja' and Khushi Bharadwaj as 'Ira', 'Raj' and 'Anju's' daughter. The story revolves around 'Roshni's' murder. The murder charges were made against 'Raj', who was seen holding the body of 'Roshni'.
For those unaware, 'Roshni' worked as a nurse and took care of 'Raj's' daughter, 'Ira', who has Asperger's. However, as time passed, 'Roshni' and 'Raj' developed a special bond. In fact, when 'Madhav Mishra' got involved in the case, he found that 'Roshni' was jealous of 'Raj's' estranged wife, 'Anju', as he was neither giving the latter a divorce nor accepting his relationship with the former publicly. In a fit of jealousy, she started poisoning 'Raj' and 'Anju's' daughter, 'Ira'. Initially, 'Anju' was taken into custody on murder charges, and 'Madhav' discovered that it was 'Dr. Raj Nagpal', who murdered 'Roshni'.

For the unversed, 'Raj' revealed that his estranged wife, 'Anju', was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, stage 4, which raised 'Madhav's' doubts about his findings. So, he went to the hospital where 'Anju' was admitted to meet her. During their conversation, 'Anju' admitted that 'Raj' was the real killer, but she took the blame upon herself as she was already dying. 'Anju' also disclosed that she took this decision for her daughter, 'Ira's' sake, as there would be someone to take care of her. Thus, after analysing the entire plotline, we can say that the title, Criminal Justice: A Family Matter, is very appropriate.
