Daboo Mallik Claims He's Responsible For Amaal Mallik's Anger, 'Mature Enough To Bring Up A Child..'

Amaal Mallik has been hogging the headlines since entering the Bigg Boss 19 house. What was supposed to be his chance to revive himself has made him the most popular and controversial contestant on the show. However, sometimes it might not be the best for him, as the audience has seen sides of him that they are not pleased with. And now, his father, Daboo Malik, has responded to his son's anger, claiming that if anyone should be blamed for his temperament, it should be him.

Daboo Malik blames himself for son, Amaal Mallik's anger

Amaal Malik has emerged as one of the most popular faces on the show, despite the controversy surrounding his remarks. From a heated exchange with Farhana Bhatt, laced with derogatory remarks, to calling his own father a 'failure', the singer has been receiving intense criticism from trolls. While many have called him 'temperamental', others have labelled him 'pathetic'. However, now a few weeks into the show, Amaal's father, Daboo Malik, made an appearance on the Weekend Ka Vaar segment to support his son and guide him on his performance and behaviour.

The singer's father sat for an interview with News18 Showsha on November 17, 2025, and revealed that if anyone should be blamed for Amaal Mallik's anger, it should be him. Daboo Mallik reflected on his shortcomings as a father and shared that Amaal gets his short-tempered trait from him. The veteran music composer claimed that before he tries to correct him, he should look at his own journey. He further added:

"I should think about how I behaved in front of him when he was growing up. Was I mature enough to bring up a child and give him the right guidance and direction? Was I a father who minded his P-s and Q-s? No, I had many faults. I was temperamental too. He grew up seeing the worst in me."

Daboo Malik claims he would've been more controversial if he were on the show

While defending Amaal Mallik, Daboo Malik hinted that he would've been an even more controversial contestant on Bigg Boss. He shared that navigating the house would've been extremely easy for him, given his experiences. Claiming that he would've given the contestants a run for their money, Daboo stated:

"Keeping these things in mind, I feel that I would be worse than him if I was in the Bigg Boss house. I think navigating the house will be very easy for me basis the experiences that I've had. I would give all contestants a run for their money. People don't know how my mind works! I'm a very interesting and sharp person. If I were to enter the house, I would create a 'Rumble In The Bronx'. Dhamaal ho jaata."

In the same conversation, Daboo revealed that he had pushed Amaal to participate in the show. When asked if he regretted pushing him, he revealed that Amaal can control what is happening inside the house. However, there's a universe outside with opinions he has no control over, and that can really break him. He further revealed be it comments from a bot or negative PR, they can destroy 'the fabric of one's existence'. He added:

"I don't want that to happen to me or my family and I be the reason for it. I get that now. So, my decision of taking Amaal into the show from a legacy of musicians and from the kind of person that he was could be a mistake. But it was my wish for him to face this challenge. For me, his win would be to not get the trophy home but for him to cultivate traits that make people go, 'Wow, what a change!'"
