Daldal, the crime series starring Bollywood actress, Bhumi Pednekar, is currently hogging the limelight for its spine-chilling plotline. The series was released on January 30, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video. Alongside Bhumi, the thrilling series also stars Aditya Rawal, Samara Tijori, Chinmay Mandlekar, Sandeep Kulkarni, and more. The crime drama series is based on Vish Dhamija’s book, Bhendi Bazaar. Amid the buzz, let’s find out what happens at the end of the seven-episode series.
Bhumi Pednekar stepped in as DCP 'Rita Ferreira' to solve a mur*** series. While bodies pile up, 'Rita's' seniors want to wrap things up fast and label it as unconnected attacks. But 'Rita' isn’t convinced and thus goes deeper into the case. She meets journalist, 'Anita Acharya' (played by Samara Tijori), who is covering the story of the mur*** series. She also meets 'Sajid', who has a past connection with 'Anita'.

After identifying the wounds on the victims’ bodies, the police department finds 'Sajid' guilty. However, 'Rita' isn’t convinced and goes deeper and finds out two different patterns of wounds on the bodies. Her deeper investigation suggests that there have been two people involved in the crime series. After close examination, 'Rita' finds out that journalist 'Anita' is the real killer.

After the revelation of the real killer, the series establishes 'Anita's' childhood that has a close connection with the mur*** series. 'Anita's' past was nothing less than a nightmare. Her mother, 'Vivianne', worked as a pros***ute after her father, 'Jay Acharya', an encounter specialist, died before her birth. In order to protect 'Anita' from the maf** gang, her mother dressed her as a boy.

But the truth comes out, following which 'Anita' and her mom, 'Vivianne' tries to escape. During this, 'Vivianne' gets killed and 'Anita' ends up at a boy’s orphanage. During her time inside the orphanage, she meets 'Sajid'. Inside the orphanage, 'Anita' and 'Sajid' were abused by the principal. This harassment left a scar on both of them. Years later, 'Anita' tracks down everyone related to this abu** and starts k**ling them.

DCP 'Rita' tracks down 'Anita Acharya' with the help of 'Sajid' from the orphanage. 'Anita' had captured the young girls in the orphanage where years ago she was abu*** by the principal. After reaching the spot, 'Rita' frees the young girls who were imprisoned by the real killer. However, 'Anita Acharya' sets herself on fire to escape arrest. But 'Rita' saves 'Anita' in the end. DCP 'Rita Ferreira' succeeds in solving the mysterious murder series.

The series then shifts its focus to 'Rita's' troubled personal life. She lost her mother years ago, who killed herself in the old house, where 'Rita' had spent her childhood. 'Rita' returns to the house and cries her heart out, finally accepting her mother’s death. The series ends with justice served, but 'Rita's' own wounds remain raw, hinting at a season 2 of the series.
Bhumi Pednekar is well known for her expressive and emotionally charged roles. However, in the crime series, Daldal, she had to act the exact opposite. Speaking of the same, in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Bhumi shared that she had to be restrained. She mentioned that the discomfort stayed within her, and within ten days into the shoot, self-doubt crept inside her. She was quoted as saying:
"She has so much restraint. She's stoic. She's not physically expressive or verbose. As an actor, I'm used to material where emotions are heightened. Here, I felt very, very disabled on set. I remember thinking, 'I just can't do this right.' I kept telling Amrit that I didn't know what to do. They were so well-written and interesting. As an actor, you want to do more, express more."
