Kaitlyn Bristowe has returned to Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) as a guest participant for the show's 20th-anniversary special. She won season 29 of the show and was one of several former Mirrorball champions invited back for a special Relay Dance round. For the event, she was partnered with the season 34 contestant, Andy Richter, for a Viennese waltz act. The duo performed opposite another pair, Dylan Efron and Rumer Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Both the pair's performance thrilled fans, and they received significant praise from the judges; however, one contestant emerged as the clear winner, and the other was eliminated.
In the recent episode of Dancing With the Stars season 34, the contestant widely considered the 'fan favorite' has bid farewell to the show. 59-year-old, Andy Richter, was eliminated in Week 9 (the quarterfinals). He was partnered with professional dancer, Emma Slater, and also performed a stunning Viennese waltz relay with Kaitlyn Birstowe, the winner of the first season of DWTS. Kaitlyn's return to the show after five years, and that too, for a special act with Andy, won over the audience. However, the judges were not particularly impressed, and they declared Dylan Efron and Rumer Willis the winners of the round.

Comedian, Andy Richter, was often referred to as the 'people's princess'. He had managed to stay in the competition for several weeks, despite consistently receiving some of the lowest scores from the judges, thanks largely to high viewer support. However, after Andy and Emma received the lowest combined score from the judges and viewer votes, they had to be eliminated. His elimination on the 20th Birthday Party Night of DWTS was a significant moment for the show as it heads into the semifinals. Fans were despondent to see him go as they had widely appreciated his journey on the show. The elimination was described as shocking and emotional by social media users.

During Dancing with the Stars 20th Anniversary Special, Kaitlyn Bristowe praised Andy Richter by calling him the 'heart of the show'. Kaitlyn, who partnered with Andy for a Viennese Waltz relay dance, made the comment in an interview with extratv ahead of their performance. She expressed excitement about putting on her dancing shoes and returning to the platform after five years. Kaitlyn referred to herself as a 'Fandy' (a fan of Andy Richter) and humorously dubbed their pairing 'Candy'. She said she was 'rooting for Andy all the way'. The fans appreciated Kaitlyn's encouraging words for Andy, which were definitely the highlight of the interview.
