The much-awaited trailer of the romantic-comedy 'De De Pyaar De' is back with its part 2, promising a fresh dose of laughter, love, and family drama. The film hit theatres in 2019 and is set to return on screen in November 2025. The hit rom-com brings back Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in their charming yet unconventional pairing, while adding an interesting new twist that will add a hurdle in their relationship.
Directed by Anshul Sharma, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ starts the story from where it ended in the first part. The plot continues with the story of ‘Ashish’ played by Ajay Devgan and ‘Ayesha’ played by Rakul Preet Singh, who are still trying to get everyone’s approval for their relationship despite the wide age gap that once made their love story so complicated.
The trailer opens with ‘Ashish’ attempting to impress ‘Ayesha’s parents, particularly her father ‘Rajji,’ who is none other than R. Madhavan. However, things don't go as he expected because her father, 'Rajji,' is younger than 'Ayesha,' creating awkward situations between the two families. As ‘Ayesha’ introduces him to her family, things quickly take an awkward yet funny turn.
The cast of the film, De De Pyaar De 2, brings together familiar faces as well as some new faces to keep the plot fresh. Ajay Devgn reprises his role as ‘Ashish Mehra,’ whereas Rakul Preet Singh returns as ‘Ayesha Khurana.’ The trailer also makes references to Ajay’s iconic scenes from Phool Aur Kaante and Singham. The sequel also introduces new characters, featuring R. Madhavan as 'Rajji Khurana,' who is Ayesha's sharp-witted and protective father, while Gautami Kapoor plays 'Mrs Khurana.'
To add the punch of humour, Javeed Jaferi will be playing ‘Sameer Khanna,’ who is also ‘Ashish’s loyal friend. Meezaan Jafri, Ishita Dutta, and Sanjeev Seth will also be featured in this modern romantic comedy. While old faces are returning, the trailer confirms that Tabu, who played the role of ‘Manju,’ the ex-wife of ‘Ashish,’ will not be part of the sequel.

R. Madhavan is also joining the cast of 'De De Pyaar De 2'; he will be playing the role of Rakul's father. During the trailer launch of the film De De Pyaar De 2, Madhavan was asked about playing the role of her father. The actor said that he had never played a father's role. He further added:
"I have never done a father's role before, and competing with Ajay, I was very nervous. I have seen other actors who are so busy when they come to the set, but Ajay sir is always present and dedicated. We have always felt connected."
The trailer has already taken social media by storm. Fans have praised the fresh pairing of Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan, calling it “unexpectedly perfect.” Many have said that the first part was good and there’s no need for the other part. However, some viewers also expressed that they’ll miss Tabu’s presence, whose chemistry with Ajay Devgn in the first film was one of its highlights.
De De Pyaar De 2 is all set to release on November 14, 2025, under the banners of T-Series Films and Luv Films. The film features a lineup of singers, including Yo Yo Honey Singh, Payal Dev, Avvy Sra, and others, ensuring a range from peppy dance hits to heartfelt love songs.
