Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary had eloped and tied the knot in a secret wedding in 2006. However, later the couple got married in an intimate ceremony at their home in 2011. Gurmeet and Debina have been married for 12 years now and are parents to two adorable daughters, Lianna and Divisha. Recently, the duo walked down the memory lane and visited the hotel, where they met each other during their acting days.
In a recent YouTube video, Debina and Gurmeet recalled the special moments they spent together and revealed their first impressions of each other. They had met each other for the first time in 2004 when they were put up in a hotel for a month for an acting pageant. Talking about the same, Gurmeet shared:
“We were 18-19 years old back then and met here for the first time. The vibe is still the same. I came to a big city from a small town back then. This place was our first five-star experience. I was shocked seeing a bathtub also. Had I known that we would meet and have a family like this, I would have never come."

Debina Bonnerjee recalled how she used the bathtub to the fullest as she had never seen it before. She further shared that she and Gurmeet are totally opposite of their reel characters and revealed that her husband has always been a loafer. Adding that she never gets jokes in real life, Debina shared:
“I came from big city but my father belonged to a middle class. I remember now, I utilised the bath tub to the fullest. Yeh pehle bhi aise loafer type ka tha. That’s why we took so much time to bond. While Gurmeet is shown to be a broody, he jokes a lot in real life. I am shown to be fun-loving, but in real life, I don’t get jokes.”
Debina and Gurmeet started off as good friends, and none of them was trying to impress each other. Debina recalled how she and Gurmeet noticed each other in a group of 30 contestants for the pageant and added that they were the most unconventional pair. However, she stated that since they had no idea that they would be together one day and said:
"There were around 30 girls and boys from all over, and so many couples had formed. Ours was the most unconventional pair, and everyone thought ours would not survive. Touchwood, we are the only ones who got married, and have kids. We had loads of moments together. To notice each other in those 30 people, it was a big thing. We didn’t realise back then, but the small moments got us closer. Our start was here. We have moments in all the parts of the hotel.”
When the acting pageant was about to end, the hosts organised a party for all the contestants. Acting smart, Gurmeet pretended to have lost consciousness at the party and Debina thought that he was drunk. However, when she innocently asked Gurmeet if he was drunk, the latter asked her to come close to him and check herself. As soon as Debina approached close to him, Gurmeet kissed her, leaving her shocked. Now, reacting to the kiss, Debina mentioned how that kiss led to their togetherness of 19 years and counting.
