Debinna Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary are one of the most loved couples in the Hindi TV industry. The couple won hearts with their portrayal of 'Ram' and 'Sita' in the popular TV series, Ramayan. Currently, the duo is part of the reality show, Pati Patni Aur Panga. For the unversed, the show marks Gurmeet and Debinna’s comeback to the small screens after almost 10 years. In a recent episode of the show, the Ramayan couple revealed that they have tied the knot three times.
In a recent episode of the show, Pati Patni Aur Panga, hosted by Sonali Bendre and Munawar Faruqui, Debinna Bonnerjee recalled her first marriage to Gurmeet in a temple. Debinna was just 19 years old, when she tied the knot with Gurmeet at a small temple in the presence of three friends and five pandits. The ceremony was very much personal and dear to both of them. Debinna was quoted as saying:
"I truly believe I manifested Gurmeet. I was just 19 when we got married for the first time. It was impulsive, magical, and completely ours. We were standing in front of a small mandir with a few close friends, five pandits, and hearts full of love. Nobody knew, not even our families."
Debinna shared that all her marriages to Gurmeet are equally special. She mentioned that every marriage had a different version of itself. She recalled the moment when she had put the varmala on Gurmeet in front of their family and friends. Debinna expressed that although many years have passed since Gurmeet and she became husband and wife, the feelings of love for each other are still the same. In her words:
"Years later, when we got married again with all the rituals, it was like life giving us a chance to celebrate the same love on a bigger scale. I remember putting the varmala on him in front of our family and friends. I was overwhelmed. It wasn’t about grand gestures; it was about love that kept evolving. Each shaadi was a different version of us, and each equally special. And now, years later, to still be able to look at each other and say ‘yes’ again, that’s rare."
In the same episode, Gurmeet also shared his take on the same. He shared that the first marriage was raw and real. He mentioned that his second marriage to Debinna gave him the chance to give her the celebration she deserved. Gurmeet shared that it was a rare moment to exchange vows not only once but thrice. Reflecting on the three weddings, Gurmeet said:
"When she asked me on a call if I’d marry her, I didn’t even blink. I was on my bike, but I turned around, got a mangalsutra, found some pandits, and we just went for it. That first wedding was raw and real. No cameras, no pressure, just love. The second one gave me the chance to give her the celebration she deserved. I applied sindoor, tied the mangalsutra properly, and saw our families and friends dancing. And to be able to stand in front of each other again years later and say, 'I still choose you' not once, but three times, that’s something rare. I feel blessed I got to do that with her."
