'You Can Quit Job, Papa, I Will Take Care,' Said Girl Who Changed Return Ticket, Died In Plane Crash

It has been 10 days since the Ahmedabad plane crash took place, and more than 265 families are mourning the demise of their loved ones. Even days later, emotional stories of those who lost their lives continue to surface on the internet and remind us how every number in the death toll was a person with dreams, a future, and love. They were not just passengers; they were parents, kids, friends, professionals, and more. Among them was a 21-year-old law student, Deepanshi Bhadouriya whose story has left the internet emotional.

Deepanshi postponed her return to celebrate her parents' anniversary a day before the air tragedy 

Deepanshi Bhadouriya was more than just a brilliant law student with dreams of making it big in the world of justice. She was a beloved daughter, an admirable sister, and a vibrant soul who used to spread happiness at her home with her presence. The 21-year-old was studying law at Exeter University in the UK and came from a foreign land to India on March 27, 2025, to surprise her father on his birthday. Her father, S.S. Bhadouriya has been a Deputy Superintendent of police. She was earlier supposed to return to London on May 20, 2025. But, she chose to delay her return to celebrate her parents' anniversary on June 11, 2025.

Deepanshi enjoyed a fun-filled celebration with her family on her parents' anniversary, but just hours later, she boarded the doomed flight AI171 on June 12, 2025. Before taking that ill-fated flight, Deepanshi had taken her final selfie with her parents just minutes before the takeoff at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. She later died after her ill-fated flight crashed seconds after takeoff, claiming the lives of 241 passengers onboard with just one survivor. 

Her heartbroken family and friends, who are still not able to believe that Deepanshi is no more, gathered to express grief at Umiya Mata temple in Gandhinagar. Her relatives shared that she was an excellent student who represented her college across six countries. They revealed that she spent all her day with her parents on their anniversary and used to say:

"Papa, once I complete my studies, you can always leave this job. I shall take care of everything."

The horrifying Ahmedabad AI171 plane crash took place on June 12, 2025, when Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft en route to Gatwick, London, couldn't gain altitude during takeoff and crashed into a nearby doctor's hostel into Atulyam complex in Meghaninagar. It claimed 241 lives, with one survivor onboard and other lives of the people present near the crash site. Air India announced compensation of Rs. 1 crore to the families of the deceased, and multiple International agencies have begun their investigation to understand the cause behind the crash.
