Deepika Padukone has been on the receiving end of trolls for some time now. While social media is filled with memes about Deepika keeping Ranveer as a safe option while she dated other guys casually, netizens are bashing the actress for her controversial remarks. However, Deepika and Ranveer remain unfazed by the ongoing drama and swooning our hearts with their camaraderie like never before. Now, in an interview, the actress finally reacted to the brutal trolling and gave an apt reply.
In an interview with Vogue India, Deepika Padukone has often been subjected to trolls for every trivial reason. For the unversed, while she was criticised after the release of her film, Padmaavat, in 2018, she stood up with students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. Even now, she manages to be a successful public figure while speaking her heart out and protecting herself. Talking about the same, the actress said:
“I just don’t know any other way of being.”

Speaking on the same lines, Deepika Padukone gave a sassy reply to trolls who slammed her for speaking the truth. The actress shared that if she feels passionately about something, she never thinks twice before expressing herself. She further added that she is not afraid to speak her truth or own up to her mistakes, as she is okay to be the only person in the room who has a different point of view. In her words:
“When I feel really strongly or passionately about something, I don’t think twice about expressing myself. I’ve grown to become this person where I’m not afraid of speaking my truth or owning up to mistakes. I’m not afraid of saying sorry and I’m okay to be the only person in the room who has a different point of view.”
It so happened that during her appearance on Koffee With Karan 8, Deepika Padukone shed some light on her dating days with Ranveer Singh and revealed that she didn't commit to him until he proposed to her, due to her difficult past relationships. Talking about their casual relationship, the actress said that even if they were seeing other people, they would keep coming back to each other. Deepika further shared that whenever she met other people, at the back of her head, she knew she was committed to Ranveer. However, Deepika's honest revelations didn't go down well with some people, who ended up slamming her for her actions.

While Deepika and Ranveer didn't react to the trolling, the show's host, Karan Johar seemingly addressed the trolling the couple is receiving for their latest appearance on KWK. On October 29, 2023, the host of Koffee With Karan Season 8, hosted an Instagram Live session to talk about the buzz around the eighth season of his show. During the session, the filmmaker tried to teach the trolls a lesson and slammed them by indirectly stating the negative impacts of trolling. Karan said:
“Do what you need to do because no one’s looking. Trolling gets you nowhere. You are landing nowhere.”
