Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh completed one year of their marital bliss on November 14-15, 2019. The couple had taken to spirituality to celebrate their special day and had gone off to Tirupati Temple and Golden Temple respectively to celebrate their special day. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had a dual style wedding- a Konkani and a Sindhi one. Speaking specifically of their Konkani wedding, the first picture to be shared by the couple for the same had Ranveer hold a necklace in his hand, as Deepika could not stop laughing with a red and golden saree on her lap. Now if you look closely, it is the same saree that Deepika had sported on the first day of her anniversary celebrations, i.e., her Tirupati visit! Do note that the red and golden Sabyasachi Mukherjee saree was a gift from her in-laws (Ranveer Singh’s parents) to Deepika and how beautifully she flaunted it. How great is that!
While November 14, 2019, was all about Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Tirupati visit, November 15, 2019, was about going to Amritsar’s Golden Temple to seek the Almighty’s blessings. Donned in Sabyasachi Mukherjee ensembles, Deepika had looked gorgeous in a burgundy kurta with dhoti pants, heavy choker and her sindoor-smeared forehead was a major show-stealer. Ranveer, on the other hand, had donned a floral plum-coloured kurta and bandhgala. But the catch here was that Deepika had recycled her Amritsar-visit kurta-dhoti pant, the same piece that she had worn for her chooda ceremony! The more we look at their pictures, our hearts yearn for more! Hence, Sabyasachi Mukherjee had taken to Instagram and had posted a heartfelt anniversary wish for the two lovebirds. The details of their apparels which was backed by a heartfelt wish which could be read as “Deepika Padukone @deepikapadukone and Ranveer Singh @ranveersingh in a Sabyasachi Benarasi sari and a Kurta churidaar Nehru jacket set at the Venkateswara Temple, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had gotten married as per two wedding customs, a Konkani and a Sindhi wedding. But do you know that the two weren’t keen on having a traditional wedding in the first place? Revealing what made her finally opt for one, the Chaapaak actress had shared in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar US, “There was a lot of temptation to move away from the traditional, especially for the two of us, who are constantly travelling, but it was important to me. Ranveer has always been okay with whatever. He’s always said, ‘Whatever makes you happy makes me happy.’ But for me, it’s about wanting to do everything at the right time. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were already engaged and rokafied years before their wedding. Spilling the beans on why they didn’t live-in together, Deepika had stated in the same interview, "If we had started living together earlier, then what would we be discovering later on? That’s what this year has been, living together and discovering each other. I like to say we made the best decision of our lives. I know people are cynical about marriage, but that hasn’t been our experience. We believe in the institution, and we’re enjoying every bit of it."
