Speaking along the same lines, Deepika added that she and Ranveer had a different life and upbringing, and their union was like coming together of two different worlds. However, she emphasised that their marriage is not glorious, and they have their bad days just like everybody else. But the duo fight all odds together and communicate to sort out their differences, which makes their marriage beautiful. She continued:
“At the end of the day, he’s had a different life, a different upbringing, and I’ve had a different life and upbringing, and it’s about two very different people coming together. It’s not to say that we don’t have our fights, we don’t have our arguments, we don’t have our bad days. We do. But the fact that we choose to power through it together, the fact that we choose to argue with each other, the fact that we communicate, and choose to learn from that, and grow from that, and then move on, is what makes marriage beautiful.”
Deepika Padukone also revealed that she and Ranveer have had their rough patches and their marriage is not filmy. Adding that marriage is work, the actress mentioned that she and Ranveer do not have lovey-dovey romance every day, but they try to make their married life beautiful by working on it together. Deepika was heard saying:
“If anyone is under the impression that in marriages you wake up every morning and the sun is shining, and someone says, ‘Hey baby, your coffee is ready’, that’s not what marriage is. Sure, you might have certain days that are like that, but marriage is work. And the work is what makes it beautiful.”

Before finding her Mr Right in Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone had her share of heartbreaks, which made her cynical of love when she met the former. Deepika has been in serious relationships one after the other, since the age of 13, and when Ranveer came into her life, she was wary of relationships. She wanted an open relationship, despite feeling a strong connection with him. In an interview with Filmfare, Deepika had said:
"When this relationship, which I was in ended in 2012, I was like I'm done. I wanted to try out this concept of casual dating. I just did not want to be answerable to anyone. When Ranveer and I met in 2012, I told him, 'I realise there's a connection between us. I really like you but I want to keep it open. I don't want to commit. If I get attracted to different people I'm going to do my thing,'"
On the work front, Ranveer and Deepika will next collaborate on Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film, Singham 3.
