Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone needs no introduction, as she is one of the most sought-after actresses of her generation. She became an overnight sensation with Farah Khan's film, Om Shanti Om, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Since then, she has featured in many films, including Fighter, Pathaan, Tamasha, and much more. Now, the actress has opened up about the growing popularity of Indian cinema on the international level. 

Deepika Padukone praises Alia Bhatt starrer, RRR for its global success

In an interview with Deadline, Deepika Padukone talked about the Indian cinema getting attention on a global level. She also shared that the West has opened up more to Indian brand of cinema and noted how the viral song, Naatu Naatu, from Alia Bhatt starrer, RRR, went on to win the Oscar. She said:

“I think the world has become smaller, and the world has come together and it’s really about telling great stories. Whether it’s working in Sweden or Bosnia, it’s about telling interesting stories that resonate for an audience across the world.”

Deepika Padukone never auditioned for movies in Bollywood

Deepika Padukone further talked about her initial journey into Hollywood and shared that it was nothing like Bollywood. For the unversed, Deepika made her Hollywood debut with the film, XXX: Return of Xander Cage, alongside Vin Diesel in 2017. Recalling her big break, the actress said that it was a whole new experience for her as she had never auditioned for a role before and didn't give any sort of test. In her words:

“About a decade ago, when I started my journey in the West auditioning, it was a really new process for me because I’d never had to audition. I wasn’t a trained actor, and I never went to a fancy acting school — everything that I’ve learned has been on the job.”

On February 29, 2024, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh took to their respective IG handles and shared a collaborative post to announce their 'good news'. The couple left their entire fanbase into a meltdown as they revealed that they are going to be parents soon. Atop the picture, the couple penned a note and revealed that their baby will arrive in September 2024.

Deepika Padukone's first appearance flaunting her baby bump in style

On May 24, 2024, Deepika Padukone graced an event in Mumbai and stole everyone's attention with her appearance. The actress was radiating her pregnancy glow in a bright yellow-hued pleated dress featuring thick straps and a sweetheart neckline. She completed her look with a pair of dainty diamond and pearl-studded earrings and glam makeup. With her hair tied in a messy low bun, the mommy-to-be was seen flaunting her baby bump in style.
