Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone-starrer film, Kalki 2898 AD, has been hitting the headlines since its release on June 27, 2024. The science-fiction film has been captivating hearts with its storyline and stellar performances amongst the masses. Apart from being science fiction, a slight touch of mythology in its content has simply made the storyline more interesting. Moreover, VFX becoming an integral part of films, shows the epic characters in a completely transformational era.
The much-anticipated film, Kalki 2898 AD's storyline is set 6,000 years after the Mahabharata's Kurukshetra war. It took much inspiration from Hindu scriptures, and indeed, fans are loving it. Moreover, due to heavy footfall in the theatres, film analysts are assuming that Kalki 2898 AD will soon cross the Rs. 1000 crore mark wroldwide. Undoubtedly, the courtesy also goes to Deepika Padukone's role as 'Sumathi' in the film. The audience has exceptionally praised the role due to its appealing look and portrayal by the actress.

'Sumathi' indeed impressed audiences with her performance as a pregnant subject, who despite carrying a baby bump, can be seen acing all the hurdles required in the movie. However, we got to know, that Deepika Padukone was not the initial choice for the role. Previously, popular actress, Pooja Hegde was considered for the role, following her collaboration with Prabhas in the pan-Indian film, Radhe Shyam. And people were also praising the pairing. However, when Pooja's performance received mixed to negative reviews in Radhe Shyam, the makers opted for Deepika as per a repot in ETimes.
If reports are to be believed, Kalki 2898 AD was shot between July 2021 and March 2024. However, the much-anticipated film's final release was delayed due to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Apart from Deepika, the film features Amitabh Bachchan as 'Ashwatthama', Prabhas as a bounty hunter, 'Bhairava', Kamal Hasaan as 'Supreme Yaskin' and Disha Patani as 'Roxie', among others. Moreover, Nag Ashwin's directorial also has cameos by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and many more.

Earlier, we also got the details on the actor who played the role of 'Lord Krishna'. As per reports, the role was played by a Telugu actor named Krishna Kumar, who is known for his performances in films like Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra, Soorarai Pottru and more. Although the character was not revealed in the film, the actor, who later made a post on the same, clarified all the doubts.
