Deepika Padukone Said 'I Don't Know How To Casually Date' In Old Clip, Netizens Call Her 'Hypocrite'

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are the power couple of Bollywood. They recently made their first appearance as a couple on Karan Johar’s show, Koffee With Karan Season 8, and revealed shocking details about their marriage and relationship. Ranveer and Deepika have been together for over a decade now, and they hold a massive fanbase. Now, an old video of Deepika Padukone on Koffee With Karan has resurfaced wherein she opened up about not knowing how to date casually.

In 2014, when Deepika Padukone appeared on KWK with Priyanka Chopra, she was rumoured to be dating Ranveer Singh. The duo had already amazed everyone with their onscreen chemistry in films like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Back then, Karan asked Deepika if she was dating Ranveer and also added why she was not open about it in public, unlike in the case of Ranbir Kapoor, the actress replied,

“That was a stage in my life when I had genuinely believed that I had fallen in love.”

Deepika Padukone revealed she doesn't know how to date casually

Then Karan Johar immediately asked, “So you’re not in love with Ranveer?”To this, Deepika said 'No' and added that she was very scared to invest emotionally in a relationship as she was not into casual flings. She also mentioned that casual dating has more to do with Indian culture, and they have not been brought up to do that. Deepika further stated:

“I’m very scared to invest emotionally in a relationship because I don’t know how to casually date. I don’t know how to be in this in-between sort of dating but not committing. I don’t know just casual. It’s more to do with Indian culture. I don’t think we’ve been brought up to date. It’s not in our culture to do that. It might be changing now.”

Fast forward to now, during her appearance on Koffee With Karan 8, Deepika Padukone shed some light on her dating days with Ranveer Singh and revealed that she didn't commit to him until he proposed to her, due to her difficult past relationships. Talking about their casual relationship, the actress said that even if they were seeing other people, they would keep coming back to each other. Deepika further shared that whenever she met other people, at the back of her head, she knew she was committed to Ranveer.

While one user commented, "That hypocrisy ki bhi koi seema hoti hia....suits perfect here..", another one penned, "The time when she was saying that she can't do casual dating was the time was she was casually dating things".
