Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif have had a shared past, vis-à-vis their common ex-boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor. For the unversed, after breaking up with Deepika, Ranbir swiftly moved on with Katrina Kaif. As a result, it created a spat between the two ladies, who never really interacted with one another after that. However, there was a time when Deepika tried to take a dig at Katrina by asking for her passport.
During her stance in an earlier season of Koffee With Karan, Deepika Padukone had hit headlines, after she allegedly tried to age-shame Katrina Kaif. Well, it so happened that Deepika was asked by the host, Karan Johar about the one thing she wanted to say to Katrina Kaif, who by then dated her ex-boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor. To this, Deepika mentioned that she would want to take a look at Katrina’s passport.

Well, such a comment made by Deepika wasn’t liked by a lot of people, who thought that the actress was perhaps jealous of her contemporary, Katrina and wanted to see where she had gone on trips with Ranbir Kapoor. However, when it came to Katrina, the diva gave an unmissable response. In her words:
“There is nothing in my passport, everybody can see it.”
Soon after breaking up with Deepika, Ranbir flew down his then-lady love, Katrina Kaif on a vacation to Ibiza. While their trip was quite hushed about, several leaked pictures of their vacation had nevertheless surfaced on the internet. However, when Deepika Padukone was asked about her reaction to those pictures, the actress had intelligently mentioned:
“Katrina looked really beautiful in those pictures and Ibiza was also beautiful. You should go to visit the place. I was in Ibiza, so what should I enjoy in those pics? I will enjoy in Ibiza, right?"

In an earlier interaction with Filmfare, Deepika Padukone had opened up on the kind of equation she shares with Katrina Kaif. She mentioned that despite the extensive past that has gone between them, she still harbours an ounce of respect for Katrina. Sharing how the latter came at her wedding, Deepika had said:
“A lot of water has flown under the bridge. For me, just the fact that she came and was very present was gracious. I've always been fond of her. You know, just the way that she's been over the years, and with her work and I have a lot of respect for that. I made my peace with her.”
