'SRK Was Rude, Hurt My Ego,' Deepshikha Nagpal Shares How SRK Treated Her On First Day Of Shoot

Shah Rukh Khan, also known as the 'King Of Bollywood,' is not just admired for his back-to-back box office success but also for his charm off-screen. Tales about his humility and professionalism are widely known in the film industry. From Deepika Padukone and Divya Dutta to Varun Dhawan and more, actors have often praised how the superstar's humble. Among others, even actress, Deepshikha Nagpal was a fan of SRK. However, she had a rather surprising experience of working with the star. 

Deepshikha Nagpal reveals Shah Rukh Khan hurt her 'ego' on her first day of shoot

Deepshikha Nagpal worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Rakesh Roshan's 1997 film, Koyla. She recently sat down for an interview with Instant Bollywood and recalled her experience of working with the superstar. Being one of the girls who was enamoured by SRK's charm in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995, she was excited to work with him. However, when she first got a chance to shoot with him, Deepshikha's day didn't go as dreamily as she had imagined. Recalling the time, she said:

"My first scene was that I am dying in his arms. So I was nervous wondering how it would happen. When Shah Rukh came, he was smoking. So Rakesh ji came in and said, 'Do you know Dipshikkha?' He said, 'She is a fantastic actress.' Rakesh ji was very impressed with me."

However, rather than praising him, Shah Rukh Khan had an unexpected response. He dismissed the praise, which had left the actress hurt. But despite the harsh start, Deepshikha took it as a challenge to prove herself. She performed her next scene with complete focus and dedication. The actress mentioned that she can't forget the experience and can even smell the superstar's aura. In her words:

"Shah Rukh said, 'Yeah, let's see.' It hurt my ego. He was so rude. I was like, 'This is Shah Rukh. I love him.' Then I took it as a challenge."

In the same conversation, Deepshikha Nagpal shared that what started on a wrong note developed into a mutually respectful bond. Despite not being a close friend of SRK, he did notice her hard work and professionalism. They developed a friendship, and suggested her name when popular director duo, Abbas-Mustan was making Baadshah. Moreover, it was the director duo who revealed that fact and not SRK, which showcased his humility.
