'Saw A Hand On Road...' Witnesses Recall Horrific Moments Right After Delhi Red Fort Blast

Delhi is shaken by a blast in a parked car at the New Red Fort metro station. The witnesses recall the moments after the explosion.

'Saw A Hand On Road...' Witnesses Recall Horrific Moments Right After Delhi Red Fort Blast

The year 2025 made us see a lot of painful sighs. From a terrorist attack in Kashmir to India's worst airplane crash, and now, a blast in Delhi. For the unversed, a massive explosion in a car left many stranded in Delhi and worried. However, the witnesses described the horrific moment of the blast and how they felt they were all going to die due to the explosion, and others revealed seeing flying body parts.

Eyewitnesses describe horrific Delhi Red Fort blast

As per the Delhi Fire Services and the LNJP hospital, eight people have died so far, and 12 others have been injured in the blast. Many vehicles caught fire after the explosion in the parked cars, and many sustained damage in the explosion that took place near the Lal Qila Metro Station. A team of the Delhi Police Special Cell reached the spot for the investigations, and a total of seven fire tenders were rushed to contain the fire. 

As per the news agency, ANI, a local shopkeeper described the horrific moment and revealed that they heard a loud explosion. He fell three times due to the explosion and felt like they were all going to die. He said:

"I never heard such a loud explosion ever in my life. I fell three times due to the explosion. It felt as if we were all going to die."

Another local, who was there near the blast scene, revealed that he saw body parts spread on the road, and no one could out exactly what happened. It has stilled the lives in Delhi as no one anticipated it. The eyewitness shared that he even saw someone's hand on the road, which was shocking. He said, "We saw body parts spread on the road. No one could figure out what happened. When we saw someone's hand on the road, we were absolutely shocked. I can't explain it in words."

A local resident revealed that he saw the flames rising from his house, and then, when he came down to see what had happened. An auto driver, Zeeshan, who was a victim of the blast, was left injured. He told PTI that his auto was in front of the car that exploded. He stated that he cannot assure whether there was a bomb inside it or something else that exploded, and stated that it was a Swift Dzire. 

Soon, after the blast, Deputy Chief Fire Officer, AK Malik, told the news agency that they received the information of a blast in a car at the new Chandni Chowk metro station, at 7:29 p.m., the fire was brought under control.

More about the blast 

On November 10, 2025, in the evening, when people were returning from offices and colleges, a massive blast in a car caused heavy fire near the historical monument in the busiest Chandni Chowk area. It is reported that a bomb blast happened in a vehicle near Lal Quila Metro station, near Gauri Shankar Mandir on Chandini Chowk Road. An eyewitness in an interaction with Zee News revealed that he, along with a group of people, gathered near the spot for a debate when heavy explosions were heard and a massive fire erupted.
