'How To Tie Him Up For The Shock?', Delhi Woman Asked Lover In Chat While Trying To Murder Husband

Karan Dev, a 36-year-old resident of Delhi, was declared dead on July 13, 2025, in a hospital. The death was cited to be caused by an accidental electrocution, and the family declined a post-mortem. However, after the police's insistence, it was finally sent for an autopsy. Even then, the family was certain that it was an unfortunate accident and did not suspect anything. But the victim's brother caught hold of a chat between the wife and Karan's cousin, which shockingly revealed that not only were they lovers but had also allegedly planned the murder.

When the police insisted on a post-mortem, given that Karan was young and the circumstances of the 'accidental electrocution' were also suspicious, two people had objected to it reported NDTV. One was Karan's father, and the other was his paternal cousin, Rahul. However, the body was finally taken for autopsy, and a few days later, Karan's brother, Kunal Dev, found a shocking chat exchange between the victim's wife, Sushmita and Rahul. The Instagram chats revealed how exactly the wife might have carried out the murder under the guidance of their cousin, Rahul. Kunal took a video of the chats and submitted it to the police, officially accusing his sister-in-law and cousin on July 16, 2025. 

Sushmita had texted Rahul anxiously when the sleeping pills did not take effect 

Through the chats, it was revealed that before giving an electric shock to Karan, the accused had mixed 15 sleeping pills in her husband's food on July 12, 2025. However, though Karan became heavily sedated with the pills, he did not immediately die. Growing anxious with this, Sushmita had texted Rahul on Instagram asking him to check how long it would take for her husband to die from the pills. She also asked him if it does not work, what else should she do? Sushmita had asked Rahul in the texts:

"Check once how long it does it takes to die after taking the medicine. It's been three hours since he ate food. No vomiting, no potty, nothing. And no death yet either. Then what should we do, suggest something."

At this, Rahul suggested to Sushmita that if she cannot figure anything else out, then she should give her husband an electric shock. The wife then asked, "How to tie him up for the shock?" and her lover replied that she should do it with tape. Rahul also asked her to give him all the sleeping pills left. But Sushmita could not manage to open Karan's mouth and asked her lover to come and help her. In the texts she said:

"I can't get his mouth open. I can pour water in, but I can't give the medicine. You come here, maybe together we can manage to feed it to him."

Both the accused have confessed after the chat evidence was submitted to the police

As per reports, both the accused decided to electrocute Karan and allegedly applied current to his finger while he was unconscious from the sleeping pills. Sushmita then went to her in-laws' home, which was nearby, and told them that her husband had accidentally suffered an electric shock at night. After this, the victim was taken to a hospital and declared dead. After Karan's brother submitted the incriminating evidence against Sushmita and Rahul, both of them have reportedly confessed. However, the accused wife has alleged that Karan had slapped her the day before Karwa Chauth and also demanded dowry often.
