Derek Dixon is a Hollywood actor who is best known for his role as 'Dale' in The Ruthless and The Oval. Now, in a fresh turn of events, filmmaker, Tyler Perry has found himself in soup after a new lawsuit has been filed against him, and he has been accused of sexual harassment. Tyler Perry's The Oval had Derry, who claimed that the filmmaker, Tyler made sexual advances towards him after he was invited to his Atlanta house back in January 2020. Derek claims he rejected advances made by Tyler.

A lawsuit filed by Derek alleged that he had met Tyler back in 2019, and Derek was picked out from the crowd. His number was asked for a role. Things took a different turn altogether when Derek visited Tyler back in 2020, and he was heavily drunk. Derek, in that state, slept in one of Tyler's guest rooms, and the court documents revealed that he was touched inappropriately. Perry showed interest despite Derek rejecting the same. Things took a weird turn even more after Derek was cast in The Oval, and he started getting inappropriate messages. Now, Derek wants US Dollar 260 million in compensation due to harassment at the workplace, assault and quid pro quo, which means advantage taken in return for a favour.

Who is Derek Dixon?

Derek was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and then studied at Marymount Manhattan College and also acted at the Terry Schreiber Studio back in New York. He is best known as 'Dale' in The Oval, which had around 85 episodes in the show. He also worked in Ruthless, which was also directed by Tyler and was an American drama series. He is also known for making a mark in the theatrical industry and has done plays such as The Lion in Winter, Romeo and Juliet, and The Boys in the Band. He has also written many full-length plays.

A few of them were Red Snow, Homewrecker, Pictures of People, Works of Art and Green Light. It was in 2015 when he joined the Working Title Playwrights and was also declared the winner of the Essential Theatre Playwriting Award back in 2016. When Tyler met Derek, the actor back then was working at an event company, and reports suggest he was given the role on The Restless.

Derek has alleged that Tyler had professionally retaliated against him and caused a lot of public damage, as he did not advance with the director. This was the reason he had to quit working with Tyler, whose lawyer had squashed all the charges against his client that were put by Derek. He had filed a 46-page complaint against Tyler and spoke against the fact that power and success could not entitle anyone, which also included an illegal relationship. Derek claimed that Tyler thought his wealth could purchase the actor who would be quiet. Tyler's lawyer, on the other hand, claimed:

"This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail."
