Suryakumar Yadav's Wife, Devisha Shetty, Supports Dhanashree Verma, Says, 'So Much Respect...'

Lately, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma have been in the spotlight for their much talked about divorce. Amid all the headlines and controversies, cricketer, Suryakumar Yadav's wife, Devisha Shetty, publicly showed support towards Dhanashree Verma. 

Devisha Shetty’s support for Dhanashree Verma

Recently, Suryakumar Yadav's wife, Devisha Shetty took to her Instagram handle to show her support towards Dhanashree Verma amid all the controversies around Dhanashree and Yuzi's divorce. On August 19, 2025, Dhanashree Verma sat down for a candid interview with Humans of Bombay and Devisha Shetty took a screenshot from that same interview and shared it on her Instagram Story. Along with that, she penned:

"So much respect and love for you."

Hours after Devisha Shetty uploaded the story on her Instagram, some users shared it on the social media platform, Reddit, which sparked a wave of debate. Some users came in support of Devisha and Dhanashree, while others felt that Devisha's support might cause some issues between Suryakumar and Chahal. One user commented, "Good that SKY’s wife is standing up for her, clearly she knows more than we do." Another user said, "Sky ki wife ko inn sab pe nhi padna chahiye, yuzi aur sky ke beech me gadbad hogi nhi to."

Dhanashree Verma opened up on the emotional toll of her divorce

On the recent podcast with Humans of Bombay, Dhanashree Verma spoke about the emotional toll of her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal. She recalled howling and crying after the final hearing. She also revealed that she was shocked to know about Chahal's 'Be Your Own Sugar Daddy' t-shirt and replied by saying that he could have just texted on Whatsapp rather than wearing a t-shirt. Dhanashree also explained about the pressure and online trolling she faced during the entire incident.

Dhanashree and Chahal got married in December 2020, and by 2025, they were legally divorced. Reportedly, the main reason for their divorce was that Yuzvendra wanted to live in Haryana with his parents, while Dhanashree wanted to shift to Mumbai. Eventually, they headed towards a very public divorce. 

During the time around the final hearing, Yuzi was seen wearing a black t-shirt, which said, "Be your own sugar daddy", which sparked conversations. Later, Dhanashree Verma also made some statements, which sparked debates. Reportedly, Yuzi was supposed to pay Rs. 4.75 crore to Dhanashree as alimony.
