Devoleena Bhattacharjee Reveals Her Adorable Son, Joy's Face In Pictures From 'Annaprashan' Ceremony

Devoleena Bhattacharjee is an actress and trained Bharatanatyam dancer, best known for her performance as 'Gopi Modi' from the show, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. She then participated in Salman Khan's reality show, Bigg Boss 13, which is still considered one of the most successful seasons of Bigg Boss history. The actress has a solid fanbase, whom she left elated when she announced the arrival of her first child with her husband, Shanawaz Shaikh. Now, the actress has finally revealed the face of her son, Joy, and fans cannot get enough.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee and her husband, Shanawaz Shaikh, finally gave their fans the much-awaited glimpse of their baby boy. The duo have been keeping their son, Joy's face covered with emoticons since he was born, but now the actress has shared some beautiful glimpses from Joy's Annaprashan ritual, unveiling his face for the first time. They shared that this milestone was a treasured moment. 

It was on June 10, 2025, when Devoleena took to her Instagram account and shared a series of pictures. The actress donned a beautiful brown saree with intricate white floral motifs on it. She kept her look natural with a small bindi and a beautiful smile. Shanawaz, on the other hand, looked dapper in a white kurta-pyjama with a pastel Nehru jacket. Little Joy also looked adorable in a white Bengali dhoti, kurta, and topor, which is a type of conical headgear.

Devoleena took to her Instagram handle and shared photographs from the Annaprashan ceremony. In the pictures, Devoleena finally revealed her baby boy, Joy's face to fans, seeking blessings for his good health and well-being. She expressed her gratitude as she celebrated her son's big milestone. The actress penned a beautiful note which read:

"With folded hands and hearts full of gratitude, we celebrated our beloved son’s Annaprashan, Joy’s first sacred taste of Anna (rice). May Maa Annapurna bless him with health, wisdom, and a life full of abundance. A beautiful milestone, a memory for a lifetime."

Devoleena conducted the Annaprashan ceremony according to Bengali customs. The intimate ceremony was celebrated with the couple's loved ones, including their family and friends. Devoleena's Saath Nibhaana Saathiya co-stars, Vishal Singh and Bhavini Purohit, were also in attendance.

What is Annaprashan?

Annaprashan is a Hindu ritual which celebrates a child's first solid meal, typically a rice porridge or rice kheer. The ceremony takes place between six months and one year after the child's birth and can vary based on customs. Annaprashan is one of the 16 sanskaras in Sanatan Dharma.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee and her husband, Shanawaz Shaikh, tied the knot in December 2022 at a court wedding in Lonavala, with only close friends in attendance. She revealed her pregnancy back in August 2024 with a heartfelt post featuring moments from a traditional panchamrit ritual, putting months of speculation to rest. The couple welcomed their baby boy on December 18, 2024. Sharing the news with a heartwarming video, she wrote, 

"Hello, world! Our little angel BOY is here...18/12/2024."
