Dhanashree Verma’s divorce from Indian cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal, was one of the most controversial topics of 2025. Ever since their divorce, many fingers were pointed at Dhanashree, who was called by different names. The social media influencer is a part of Ashneer Grover’s reality show, Rise and Fall and recently took an indirect dig at the online hate she has been receiving.
During the promo for the upcoming episode, contestants were paired together and were asked to choose between two bags, a gold bag worth Rs. 2 lakh and a silver bag worth Rs. 1 lakh. Dhanashree was paired with Arjun Bijlani for the task, and the actor told her that diamonds and silver don’t suit him; only gold suits him.
In response to Arjun’s comment, Dhanashree replied with an indirect dig at the online hate she has been receiving since her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal. Revealing that she cannot use Arjun’s comment in her case, Dhanashree said:
“Ye line toh main bol nahi sakti. Agar maine ye line bol di toh jo mujhe pyaar milne vala hoga vo bhi nahi milega.”
Popular social media influencer, Dhanashree Verma, married Indian cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal in December 2020. However, their relationship didn't last for long, and they decided to part ways. Even though it should have been a private affair, their divorce grabbed attention because of Yuzi's bold t-shirt that read, 'Be your own sugar daddy.' In March 2025, their divorce was finalised.
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Dhanashree Verma talked about her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal and the drama that surrounded it. Dhanashree shared that she knew people would blame her even before the t-shirt stunt occurred. She was left in shock, having not expected him to pull off such a stunt. She was quoted as saying:

"Gaadi mein baithe hai saas ekdum ki hogya bhai. Then in your head you want to look forward to your life, and then all those thoughts. Then I remove my phone and then I see what, actually yeh sachi mein isne aisa kiya, yeh aisa hogya and in one second you have millions of thoughts ab yeh hoga vo hoga, that moment I was like boss it's over, it's done and dusted, mai kyo ro."
Furthermore, when the host told her that Chahal had shared in an interview that he wanted to convey his message. Dhanashree emphasised that instead of making another headline, she chose not to make an immature statement that can appeal to the public. Dhanashree expressed her thoughts on Yuzi’s T-shirt drama and said:
"Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyu pehna hai? Fir toh ek t-shirt bhi kafi nahi."
