With 44 films, 13 SIIMA Awards, 9 Vijay Awards, 7 Filmfare Awards and many more in his name, Dhanush is known for his prominent works as an actor, producer, director, lyricist and playback singer. Dhanush was married to superstar, Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwaryaa, and we had often seen adorable glimpses of this ex-couple through their respective social media handles.
Born to famous Tamil director, Kasturi Raja, Dhanush was never keen to become an actor. It was his brother, Selvarajan, who had coaxed him into acting. Not just South, Dhanush had left a lasting impression on the audiences across the nation with his effortless performances as a crazy lover in Raanjhanaa and an aspiring actor in Shamitabh. We have often seen the playful side of this versatile actor. However, we stumbled upon a viral video of Dhanush, singing a song of his ex-father-in-law, Rajinikanth and making his ex-wife, Aishwaryaa blush.

In the video, Dhanush was seen singing the track, ‘Ilamai Thirumbudhe’ from his ex-father-in-law, Rajinikanth’s blockbuster film, Petta. While singing the song and flaunting his dance moves, Dhanush walked and pointed towards his ex-wife, Aishwaryaa, who couldn’t stop herself from blushing. Dhanush continued singing while hugging Aishwaryaa, making it a sight to behold for all his and Rajinikanth’s fans.
Dhanush's real-life love story with his ex-wife, Aishwaryaa R Dhanush is not less than a typical Indian romantic film. Along with an envious career, the South Indian film industry had given him the most beautiful and understanding life partner as well that one could ever hope for. But just like every celebrity love story, this too had started with rumours. There were reports that Rajinikanth's daughter, Aishwaryaa, was a good friend of Dhanush's sister. The media had speculated that something was going between Dhanush and Aishwaryaa. Though Dhanush had gone on record to say that there was nothing between them, neither media nor his fans were ready to accept that.
As we all know, Kasthuri Raja's and Rajinikanth's families are amongst one of the most influential families in South India. When the speculations of the affair between their children were spreading like wildfire in the media, the families had thought that this match is a good one. Hence, the families had decided to arrange their wedding. A meeting was arranged for Dhanush and Aishwaryaa so that the two could talk about a possible future together. After that meeting, they both had realised that they are perfect for each other.

Dhanush and Aishwaryaa had begun their forever journey on November 18, 2004, at Rajinikanth's house. On October 10, 2006, they had welcomed their first son, Yatra Raja and on June 21, 2010, they had welcomed their second son, Linga Raja and had completed their family.
On January 17, 2022, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth and Dhanush had taken to their respective social media handles and had shared a long note announcing their separation. The ex-couple had bared their hearts out on how difficult it was for them to take this important decision. Their note could be read as:
"18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting... Today we stand at a place where our paths separate... Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this."
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa's separation has broken the hearts of their million fans.
