Nayanthara is one of the most gorgeous actresses in the entertainment world. The actress has been ruling the entertainment world for over two decades now and has more than 75 movies to her credit. In 2023, Nayanthara made her Bollywood debut with the movie, Jawan, and she is rightfully called the 'Lady Superstar', which she time and again proved with her acting mettle. Recently, she called out Dhanush for suing her for Rs. 10 crore, that too, for using a BTS clip of 3 seconds of the latter's film featuring the actress. Amid this, Nayanthara's old video surfaced when she apologised to Dhanush for not being able to stand out his expectations in the movie, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
Recently, a video of Nayanthara from the Filmfare Awards 2016 made rounds on social media, wherein the actress looked gorgeous in a black-hued dress. While receiving the award for Best Actress, Nayanthara gave a speech and thanked her fans for supporting her. She was also seen thanking her co-stars, family, and her entire team. Nayanthara said:

"Thank you Filmfare for the most prestigious black lady. Like everyone else, I have a long list of thank yous, but I will keep it short. First of all, thank you to all my fans for being supportive through my lows and highs. They’ve always believed in me. Thank you Vijay Sethupathi Sir, the entire cast and crew, cameraman George and Sreekar sir."

In the same speech, Nayanthara also apologised to Dhanush for not standing up to his expectations. The actress said that Dhanush hated her performance in the movie, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, and thus she was sorry to disappoint him. Dhanush was sitting in the crowd and was seen laughing at Nayanthara's confession. Nayanthara said:
"Thank you Dhanush for initiating NRD and I have to say I am sorry also. Dhanush absolutely hated my performance in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Sorry Dhanush for disappointing you with my performance. I’ll probably make it better next time."

Nayanthara has been receiving positive responses for standing her ground and calling out Dhanush. Well, in her open letter, Nayanthara bashed Dhanush. She even tagged several actresses and actors from the South Indian film industry in the post that consisted of her open letter. Among others, Shruti Haasan showed her support to Nayanthara by liking the post. Apart from Shruti, Nayanthara has also tagged Dhanush's other co-stars like Aishwarya Rajesh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nazriya Fahadh, Anupama Parameswaran, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Manjima Mohan and Gouri G Kishan, and all of them extended their support by liking the actress' post.

Some of them also put on a story to support the actress. Well, in one of the IG stories, Dhanush was tagged as 'exploitative and hypocritical'. Nayanthara reshared the post on her IG, and soon after the screengrab of the post was shared on Reddit, netizens praised the actress for showing her strength.
For the unversed, Nayanthara, in her open letter, has shared that she had been chasing Dhanush for two years to obtain a clip from the movie, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan to use it in her upcoming documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale, which will be released on the actress' 40th birthday. Well, Dhanush refused to serve the request, and when the actress used a three-second BTS clip from the same, Dhanush sued her for Rs. 10 crore. This is the reason Nayanthara released a 3-page open letter to call the actor out.
