Dhanush and Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth’s love saga was straight out of a romantic novel. The soulmates had met through family and gradually fell head over heels in love for each other. Without wasting time, they decided to take the plunge and had tied the knot in 2004. Apart from being lovers, they also worked together on several movies. When Aishwarya had made her directorial debut in 2012 with the film, 3 she had cast her then-husband, Dhanush and Shruti Haasan together.
The actor’s song, Why This Kolaveri Di from the same film had become one of the viral songs of that time. Alongside this, his linkup rumours with Shruti Haasan had also made the headlines. However, Aishwarya and Dhanush got separated after 18 years of marriage in January 2022. But lately, a piece of good news has been doing rounds on the internet, and it suggested that the estranged couple may give their marriage a second chance soon. For the unversed, they are parents to two kids, Yatra Raja and Linga Raja.

In a recent interview with a YouTube channel for the magazine, Ananda Vikatan, Dhanush’s father, Kasthuri Raju, reacted to his doting son and his ex-bahu, Aishwaryaa’s patch-up rumours. He refused to give a straightforward answer and said he wants to see his children happy.
Earlier, when the Atrangi Re actor had decided to end his 18 years long marriage with Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, he had given a statement to the press. He requested privacy and had said:
“18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting… Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this."

Since Dhanush and Aishwaryaa announced their split, fans have been curious about what went wrong in their relationship. In 2018, many fans of Dhanush were resharing his father-in-law, Rajinikanth’s video. In the clip, we could see the veteran actor praising his son-in-law and calling him a good husband. Rajinikanth had said:
"Dhanush is a wonderful boy. He respects his parents, considers them God. He takes care of his wife. He is a good father, a good son-in-law, a good man, a good talent."
