A private video of veteran star, Dharmendra, in a vulnerable state at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital went viral online. The clip featured the Sholay actor surrounded by his family, including his first wife, Prakash Kaur and sons Sunny and Bobby Deol. Prakash Kaur was seen breaking down in tears in the video, secretly recorded by a hospital staff member. The hospital employee who filmed Dharmendra and his family without their consent was arrested for causing the actor's family a significant privacy issue. The act was condemned by many fans and by Zarine Khan's daughter, Farah Khan Ali.
Farah Khan Ali condemned the insensitivity surrounding the filming and dissemination of a video from a private hospital featuring actor, Dharmendra. She took to Instagram to share her feelings regarding the incident, questioning the lack of humanity and respect for privacy. She slammed the pattern of reportage on celebrities during their low times or vulnerable moments, citing her own experience during her mother, Zarine Khan's, death. As per Farah, people were more interested in finding out about what religion Zarine followed and why her last rites were performed according to Hindu traditions, rather than sending condolences to the bereaved family. Farah stated:
"My mother passed away 6 days ago and there were some here who were more interested in why she chose to be cremated instead of giving condolences. Dharam Uncle is in hospital and a video of his personal family goes viral. Are we as a nation so insensitive to people. Don't public figures also have families that have feelings?"

Farah slammed the people who questioned her mother's religion as well as spread Dharamji's video, calling them 'insensitive'. She wanted them to reflect on how they would feel if their families faced similar situations. The jewellery designer felt they lacked humanity and condemned them for feeling entitled to offer opinions on anything and everything related to a celebrity. Farah rightly said that celebrities are ordinary humans too and deserve the same empathy and respect for their privacy. Her comment could he read as:
"What happened to humanity Why does every Imbicile out here have an opinion on how others should lead their lives. Tragedy strikes all. When it's your turn And trust me it will be, there will be others like you hurting you like you hurt us."

After the clip of Dharmendra lying in a hospital bed went viral, the Mumbai Police arrested the hospital staff member responsible for the leak, and the hospital initiated an internal investigation. The Deol family were angered and deeply distressed by the incident, with Sunny Deol and Hema Malini previously voicing their opposition to filming whenever they visited Dharmendra. A furious Sunny Deol confronted the media personnel outside their residence after Dharmendra's discharge, using strong words and asking if they had no 'shame' for intruding on their personal moments.

Other Bollywood figures like Madhur Bhandarkar and Karan Johar also criticised the intrusive media behaviour and urged for sensitivity and restraint. Actor, Nikitin Dheer also condemned the insensitive media coverage and paparazzi culture, calling the perpetrators' vultures'. Previously, Dharmendra's second wife, Hema Malini and their daughter, Esha Deol, reacted strongly to their invasion of privacy and irresponsible journalism by media outlets that spread false rumours about Dharmendra's death while he was hospitalised and recovering. Dharmendra has since been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home.
