Dharmendra and Hema Malini's whirlwind of romance story in the '70s is known to all. However, it seemed like Hema never really got the love and presence of Dharmendra in her life. Recently, a video of Hema Malini and her daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol from Simi Garewal's chat show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, is made rounds on the internet. And netizens noticed the role of Dharmendra in her and their daughter's life.
Recently, a Reddit user shared Hema Malini's old interview with Simi Garewal. In the video, Hema Malini answered the host's questions about whether the support of a spouse is a must. To this, the legendary actress revealed that just to take a few decisions regarding children. Hema further added that whenever Dharmendra is in Mumbai, he would see that he meets the family, and would ask them about their studies.

Hema Malini further added that Dharmendra likes their daughter, Esha and Ahana to be always dressed up in salwar kameez. She further shared that whenever he comes home, their daughters deck themselves up in salwar kameez. Hema's daughter also joined the interview, and in the edited video, Esha talked about her decision to join films, and she would make Dharmendra accept it slowly, otherwise, he would get angry.
The then-seventeen-year-old, Esha also revealed that her father always tells them to sit at home. He called his upbringing Punjabi type and added that he is possessive about them. Esha further added that they are not allowed to go out that often. She was quoted as saying:
"He is very possessive about us. He is like girls have to sit at home only, Punjabi type of things. We are not allowed to go out that often but mumma is there, so we manage to go for sports and all. We had to go for state-levels outside Mumbai."

Another user also revealed how Dharmendra didn't invite Esha and Ahana to his grandson, Karan Deol's wedding.
