Dharmendra's Prayer Meet Named 'Celebration Of Life', Date And Venue Revealed After Rushed Funeral

Veteran actor, Dharmendra, whose real name was Dharm Singh Deol, had enjoyed superstardom. From being an 'angry young man' of the '70s, he went on to become the 'forever young man' of the country. However, he passed away on November 24, 2025. His passing left a deep void in the hearts, and many felt it a personal loss as they all could see their own family member in him. After his death, many wanted a state-level funeral for him, but the family chose to keep things private. Now, they are hosting a prayer meet which celebrates his grandeur.

Dharmendra, who was set to turn 90 years old in December 2025, passed away a few days before his milestone birthday. After a rushed and private funeral, Dharmendra's family will organise a prayer meet, and it's called 'Celebration of Life'. It will be held on November 27, 2025, from 5 pm to 7:30 pm at Taj Land's End in Mumbai. 

The picture of the invite has surfaced on social media, and it features a photo of Dharmendra from his younger days. It read, 'Celebration of Life'. Below it, Dharmendra's glorious years were mentioned, '8 December 1935 - 24 November 2025'. It is going to be an ode to Dharmendra's glorious life he left with immense dignity and courage.

Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai after health complications earlier this month. Soon, he was discharged, but reports claimed that his condition was critical and he was placed on a ventilator following breathing difficulties. But two days later, he was discharged from the hospital, and he passed away on November 24, 2025. His last rites were held in Mumbai amidst tight security. Several Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan, arrived to pay their respect. 

For the unversed, the family was extremely upset with a leaked video of the superstar surfaced on the internet after he had left the hospital. It showed Dharmendra lying on a hospital bed, and he was unconscious. It was a painful sight to watch as his first wife, Prakash Kaur, standing next to him, was crying and praying for the recovery of her husband. It was a painful glimpse as Sunny Deol went to his mother, hugged her, and tried to console her. 

After this, the Breach Candy Hospital arrested the employee who had recorded the private and extremely vulnerable moment of the Deol family for money and views. As soon as the heart-wrenching video was shared on social media, internet users slammed it, and several celebrities came forward to condemn the act in the name of updating their fans. It was clearly a breach of trust, and no one wants to see someone's extremely painful moments. 

Sunny Deol was also upset with the media's conduct during the sensitive time for his family. He was seen lashing out at the media. He was visibly upset with photographers stationed outside their home during extremely crucial times. First, with his folded hands, he requested that they not record them, as they should understand the family's state of mind. He said:

"Aap logon ko sharam aani chahiye, aapke ghar me maa baap hain, aake bache hain. Aur aap log video kare ja rahe ho. Sharam nahi aa rahi."
