Thus, talking about the same, Dia mentioned that as the oxygen level thinned at the higher altitudes and routes started getting harder, Fatima started having epileptic attacks. For the unknown, Epilepsy is a disorder of the brain. In this, the person gets repeated seizures, which occur due to the temporary change in the brain's electrical functioning. Thus, recalling the incident, Dia mentioned how Fatima used to get up soon after having seizures and perform her scene. However, Dia used to sob, looking at her co-star while lending a shoulder. Dia shared:
“The oxygen was thin, the routes were hard and Fatty had a few situations where she had an epileptic attack. But within seconds, she got up and did one of the most dramatic and significant scenes in the film. I’ve sobbed not because she’s a brilliant performer but looking at her sheer commitment as an artist.”
On November 14, 2022, Fatima took to her Instagram handle and hosted an 'Ask Me Anything' session. Then, she was asked by a user when did she learn about her illness. To this, the actress opened up for the first time about her struggle with epilepsy. She mentioned that it was during the shoot of her film, Dangal, when she woke up after one such traumatic episode of seizures, she was in the hospital. Fatima also shared that she was in denial for the first five years of it. The gorgeousness then talked about how she handled it with medications and workouts.
