Punjabi superstar, Diljit Dosanjh has found himself in hot water over the trailer release of his upcoming film, Sardaar Ji 3, featuring popular Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir. After his post went live on his social media handle, the singer-actor received backlash from a significant chunk of netizens who slammed him for promoting the film amid the rising Indo-Pak tensions. While netizens are furious and are already urging a boycott of Diljit, singer B Praak just added fuel to the fire with his cryptic Instagram story.
Following the recent Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, Indian film bodies reinforced a ban on all Pakistani artists who have been involved in Indian projects. With Diljit’s movie with Hania Aamir coming at such a sensitive time, his fans and colleagues are not happy. Amidst this, B Praak’s cryptic Instagram story has taken the internet by storm, with many believing that the Mann Bharya singer took an indirect dig at Diljit Dosanjh.
B Praak’s Instagram story talks about how many artists sell their conscience, expressing shame on such acts. While the singer did not take any names, the timing of his post led many to believe that it was an indirect dig at Diljit. He wrote:
"Kayi artist apna zameer he bech chuke ne. Fiteh mooh tuhade.”
It didn’t take long for Netizens to react to B Praak’s IG story. Taking to Instagram and Reddit, fans praised the singer for what they perceived as a bold stand against Diljit. One user commented, "Finally, someone said the truth. Nhi too so-called celebrities ko too apne desh se zyada pak fans ki zyada chinta hai." Another chimed in, "Finally!! Someone got spine."
However, loyal Dijit fans strongly defended the singer-actor as they pointed out that Sardaar Ji 3 was shot with Hania Aamir long before the Pahalgam attack, and that the makers have already announced the film will not release in India to respect public sentiment.

Although Diljit is yet to officially respond to the growing backlash, during a recent chat with the Recording Academy, the singer expressed that music transcends borders and connects nations. He was quoted as saying:
“Countries are at war, and we don’t have control over these things. But I believe music is something that unites nations. I feel blessed to be part of something that spreads love across nations.”
Amid widespread backlash from the industry and the public against the involvement of Pakistani artists in Indian projects, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued an official statement regarding Sardaar Ji 3. In their statement, they urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to withhold certification for Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film due to the inclusion of Pakistani actors in the cast. While the development has placed the film’s makers in a dilemma, they have decided to release Sardaar Ji 3 exclusively in overseas markets.
Meanwhile, fans remain divided over Diljit posting the trailer during such sensitive times. Do you think B Praak’s post was a sly dig at Diljit’s recent controversial move?
